We loved this home for its beautiful location and stunning views and also for its comfortable, clean interior. Quiet and secluded but not too far from town. Highly recommend!
The cabin was a great pick for our trip, we enjoyed the view and made several trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Would definitely stay again! Host was very easy to reach and helpful.
The location is lovely and the view from the deck is amazing. As good as advertised. Everything was clean and well maintained. I think some of the bedding could be replaced. The place had a "1970's" vibe, which has its own charm, but don't expect a modern decor. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Would have given a 4.5 for cleanliness (due to somewhat musty bedding), but choices were only 4 or 5.
Thank you Susan and Jim for sharing your family home with us. We loved the privacy and amazing nature view of the Frenchman's Bay Cove! The beds were very comfortable!
Very pleased with the house including location and view of ocean bay. Saw deer and eagles and enjoyed the stay. Only negative was that we were unable to get tv reception.
We enjoyed the beautiful and comfy waterfront cabin. The location is perfect for exploring Acadia! We saw bald eagles and ospreys fly right by the deck. We enjoyed the company of a chunky raccoon. Also, this is conveniently located close to a small market and Ruth & Wimpys for dinner.
The property is beautiful and the view is amazing. It is a remote, tranquil property where you can get away and totally relax. You are at least 45 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The only issue is the WIFI at the property is extremely slow.
After a long day of sight seeing and boat tours it’s a great place to get home to. Great views, close enough to Ellsworth to get all the food and supplies you need. Only thing to improve are the beds. They are comfy but you roll to the middle..
We loved our stay at this property. It came fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and cozy. The kids loved the giant telescope and going down to the water every morning to see what treasures they could find. My husband and I loved waking up to the peace and quiet and just sitting out on the big deck watching the lobster boats or occasional sail boat out in the water. We would definitely stay here again.
After a 12 hour drive, it was such a relief to arrive at this lovely property. The cabin included all of the necessary essentials and we woke up to the most fabulous waterfront view! The property is tucked into the woods and very peacefully secluded. We enjoyed about a 40 minute scenic drive to Bar Harbour, as well as Acadia National Park on a daily basis. We would definitely stay there again!!!
There were 4 adults that stayed at this wonderful place and there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage was just perfect in every way. (5 stars for cleanliness, 5 stars for comfort, 5 stars for location, 5 stars for everything else too!). The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were so clean. The kitchen had everything needed from the coffee pot in the morning to the lobster pot at night. The views from the deck were beautiful every moment of the day. The cottage is located in between the scoodic peninsula and Acadia, and we were able to enjoy so much including some hidden gems.
This was our 2nd time to stay here and we will be back.
We knew we picked the right place when we arrived and saw the big picture window looking I er the water. Communication with proper owner was quick and efficient. Though roomy, there are many interesting items around the spacious cabin. The porch was an added bonus that not only provided a stunning view of the water, but the night sky. Rooms spacious and well-organized. Would definitely rent again.
What a perfect place to relax and enjoy this area! This home was immaculate and had everything you could need for a perfect Maine vacation. You could never leave the house and be content with the beautiful view from the deck. Everything Acadia has to offer is a short drive away. Susan was a caring host and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I enjoyed chating with her and learning the history of this beautiful Maine home.
This is our favorite rental property in Maine and we return every year! The peaceful seclusion of the cove, the beautiful view from the living space and the deck, the access to good restaurants and day trips to Bar Harbor, the 1/4 mile drive from the house to the main road that makes you feel like you're living in a forest - we love it all! Susan is the perfect host and in the 6-7 years since we've been coming we've never had an issue. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, water pressure in the shower is good, and even in July/August it's never felt stuffy inside, thanks to the overhead fans - crank open the windows and enjoy the breeze and beauty of the cove!

Quiet and relaxing
Cabin is nicely situated near Schoodic Point and the rest of Acadia. About a 45-55 minute drive to Bar Harbor. The cabin gets you into the woods and away from the touristy areas. Love watching the tide come in and out. Susan was very responsive and has equipped the cabin with everything that you need. Lots of information has been complied about the area and it was extremely helpful to have that on hand. We were able to see a bald eagle fly past the panoramic window and land on a tree nearby. We were also able to see the woodpecker and deer. Alas no seals. However I definitely recommend the cabin. The only thing you might want to bring is goulashes so you can walk all the way across the cove at low tide at the site nearer the cabin.
My husband and I, and another couple stayed at the Ocean House for 1 week and we could have stayed alot longer. This place is so comfortable...and clean...and well stocked for whatever you have planned. We would start each day sitting on the deck with our coffee watching the tide slowly move in or out and watch the lobster boats check their traps. (And we ended each day with beers or mixed drinks on the deck watching the tide slowly move in or out.) So relaxing! The history of this area is so interesting to read about too. The tidal dam and millraces are so unique. We spent most of our time over on Schoodic Peninsula biking and hiking..(Acadia over on Mt Dessert Island was way too crowded.) We had a phone call from Susan a day into our stay which was so nice and caring on her part. She gave us some tips on restaurants and she was a pleasure to talk to. Our stay for the week went way too fast, but thanks to Susan and this beautiful cabin, it was the perfect vacation.
The cottage was clean and welcoming. Plenty of the necessities. WiFi weak, but expected that in a rural location.

"Beautiful Waterfront Cottage"
Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with our family then this lovely cottage. When we pulled into the driveway for the first time to this cottage we were met by a whole family of deer, and later on the next day saw the resident eagle!
We had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay, and Susan was very helpful about places to see or anything else that was needed.
Thank you Susan for your wonderful hospitality,we will definitely come back.

Great cabin to explore Acadia and beyond
We loved our stay in Sullivan ME! This cabin didn't have the feel of a rental but a well-loved family retreat. The setting is just lovely, with a beautiful view of the cove and surrounded by trees creating a very private space.
The cabin is very comfortable and well appointed. The owner had thought of all those personal touches that would help you explore the area or just relax. From a wealth of information about exploring the area to a well-stocked library of nature guides, she even called us the day we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The property is warm and cozy, clean and all the amenities you need for a retreat in the woods. You could choose to spend your day relaxing and searching the water for seals or use some of the suggested itineraries from the owner to explore the area.
We arrived late at night found the property easily with the owner's great directions and were comforted by the presence of a few staples in the cupboards in case we needed something. If you are looking for a rental with the inviting comforts of home with a lived in and loved feel this place is for you. We hope to return someday.
Had a lovely stay enjoying autumn in Acadia and surrounding beauty. The view of bay and tides was stunning and having breakfast there each morning before heading out was perfect. Using the washer/dryer after a rainy day really helped!
Everything was as described. Really had no issues. Very secluded and peaceful location. Very clean. Met our needs for our trip. We enjoyed staying here.
