"Gorgeous property, incredible old building and lovely grounds - the bar leads out to a garden where we enjoyed beers and great food, and the kids played hide n seek amongst the impressive topiary. Pool/ steam room etc was lovely and not too busy - heads up that if you have kids, even biggish ones, there are kid-free pool hours (from 5 I think) so if you arrive later in the evening you may not get them in. But the staff were very friendly and accommodating and let my tired kids in for a bit after this slot. Only downside to this place was not enough sound-proofing - I was woken up at 5 by the kid on the floor above running around. I would be understanding in an old building but we were in the newer section. So maybe request an upper room!"

"The room was clean bed was comfortable, an extra pillow on the beds would be good, there was mould in the shower. Staff so polite and helpful, the bar area was good, and plenty of parking. I came for a night with my children to visit family, very easy to get to my dads and felt safe with my children. "

"The advertised school holidays parts were not what we were expecting at all.. movie room with popcorn etc - was some dirty bean bags and no film playing. It was in the same room as the games so you couldn’t sit and watch a film. We didn’t find a sweet cart which was advertised. The new pool area is amazing. Great for kids! And very warm. Would definitely recommend. Communal areas could do with an upgrade and the rooms. We ate in the Ryder grill and opted for the sharing chateaubriand - for the price it was we were extremely disappointed, it was quite cold, not presented very well and lacking flavour, but with a toddler past her bedtime we didn’t have the time to send it back and wait for new food. The breakfast choices and quality was also really lacking. The breakfast food was also cold. Overall disappointed with the food here for the price it is "

"Lovely grounds and room was very clean. Disappointing that breakfast is served in a dark space with no windows when there appears to be other large rooms with windows overlooking the beautiful grounds."

"This hotel was totally outstanding The renovation downstairs is stunning. The rooms still need to be done. The food and staff are 10/10 I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a stay as much."

"A property that is nice and looked after and was within the right price range with the furniture of very good quality. Overall, think a fridge of the size for the houae was puzzling. "

"The house is good but unfortunately for our stay there was only 3 mugs (6 people staying) . One room spelt of smoke and another of wee. One bed creaked every time you moved. The towels hadnt been aired properly so they also smelt musty. The overall cleanliness just wasn't there for our stay otherwise it would have been really good. These things can be easily sorted for the next stay. The neighbour bought mugs so that's one thing sorted. Thanks "
