Cosy, comfortable cabin in the absolute heart of the Catlins in the Tahakopa Valley. This semi detached cabin/studio is set in a tranquil, idyllic seasonal garden setting full of native bird life. Surrounded by farmland with valley and mountain views and podocarp rain forest. The Tahakopa river is 100m away and winds it's way down the valley to the wonderful estuary and beach at Papatowai.Please Note: There is no Kitchenette or Bathroom facilities within the cabin bedroom. They are in their own designated rooms off the covered patio area, refer pictures.

The property was just lovely. Yard and gardens were immaculate and Ray was very nice and pleasant to deal with. It was fine for one nice, but very dated and rather inconvenient to have the bedroom, fridge and "kitchen" & bathroom in 3 separate rooms-you had to go outside to go between them. A moderate renovation & some updates would go a long way to making this spot extra special.

A Wonderful Get Away From It All Place

From the very word go we were made to feel very welcome by our wonderful host Ray! We were very comfortable and had everything we needed! Ray was so helpful with advice as to what places to visit (and there are a good many!). We will be happy to stay here again, especially as we didnt managed to see everything we wanted this time! Thank you for your hospitality Ray!

Catlins respite

Ray was very friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and warm. Didn’t realise it was separate from the bathroom although that was in the description. No sign of a hot tub? Would be better in the summer to enjoy the deck.

Leuk verblijf midden in Catlin Forrest. De accommodatie heeft 3 aparte ruimtes. Een slaapkamer met comfortabele bank en een voor mij te zacht bed. Verder een ruimte met toilet, douche en keukentje. Je moet 's nachts dus buitenom naar het toilet. Keuken is goed voorzien. En een ruimte waarin de, grote, koelkast staat. Op het mooie buitenterras staat een grote barbecue die je mag gebruiken. Ook de tuin is prachtig. Alles is wel gedateerd maar wel functioneel.
