The Studio with water views
The Studio has been a labour of love in which Darryl and I combined forces to create what we hope is a unique, comfortable and modish space. The large windows offering panoramic views flood the space with sunlight and a private deck with BBQ allows for outside lounging.
A perfect gateway to the Abel Tasman, Golden Bay, Kahurangi National Park, Nelson Lakes, the Marlborough Sounds and Marlborough. A myriad of exquisite vineyards and wineries are at your doorstep. Tasman is halfway between Mapua and Motueka, a 10 minute drive in either direction. Motueka offers all the amenities. Mapua is a quaint seaside village where you will find great restaurants on the wharf with the most stunning views, art galleries, shops and a boutique brewery.

What an absolutely stunning studio with a beautiful outlook! Everything about this property exceeded our expectations, from the clever layout, the beautifully crafted and curated art and furnishings, to the stunning view and even the little touches like the vases of beautiful flowers from the garden. It even smelled amazing when we walked in, and then for the final cherry on top we got to visit their beautiful art gallery on our way out…One of my favourite places I’ve stayed in NZ…!

This is a nice ‘Bach’ type apartment with a lovely view over the nearby hills.
Inside it was clean and had good amenities.
It is part of a building used for art and craft , the ‘frost and fire’ gallery.
Unfortunately while we were there the kiln shed next door was in use, which meant the occasional whiff of smoke from the kilns when the wind changed direction, and sound and voices coming from it throughout the first night as it was being used.
There are ‘water views’ but definitely in the distance, and mainly mud flats when the tide is out.
The views though are nice of the hills, and there is a nice out door sitting area.
There is a fast main road near the property and the noise from out does detract from the tranquil vibe.
There is a nice waterfront town ‘Mapua’ nearby with a decent brewery pub.
