We loved our stay at Gold Hill! What a beautiful house!! The views of the mountain were second to none, and there was plenty of space for our big group to hang out. The ski in/ski out location was so easy. I would go back every year if I could. Thank you!!
The Exceptional Stay team was very responsive. Very large house for a very big group. Location was perfect and house was very clean. More than enough gadgets to accommodate all group members to contribute a meal. I would stay again if I plan another trip to Telluride. Thanks.
What a wonderful home! Large, well-stocked and with absolutely gorgeous views. The property management team was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again without question!
This home overall is a great place to rent. The house was built in the 90’s and could use some updating but the layout and location was great. Dave, the property manager, was very responsive on a few issues to make our stay was enjoyable!
A Grand House and Great Location, but needs some TLC
We enjoyed the stay and having 10 people all under one spacious roof. This grand 3-story house had an elevator which was helpful for my dad who is in a wheelchair and for getting bags up the rooms at check in. The mudroom for skis was wonderful for all that gear and the ski/out was very convenient.
I didn't give this an overall 5 star rating because of the following reasons:
*The "Wheelchair accessible” label was in accurate. The elevator was correct, however the kitchen and family area had steps which are not wheelchair accessible. Also, none of the showers were wheelchair accessible - they all had steps to walk over and no grab bars in them.
* 4 of the 6 stove burners didn’t work
* 2+ of toilets were running continuously
* The front door lock was broken. We reported and it was fixed, only to realize that several other doors on the back did not lock.
* Check in directions were very vague. They provided 3 codes for each garage door. After much search, we finally found one around the side of the house. Never found the other two.
*The middle garage door was temperamental and didn't always close
* Many windows were very drafty and needed new seals. The teps dropped to single digits while there & sitting at the breakfast table (for example) you could feel the cold air
* Multiple light bulbs were out throughout the house
None of that effect the fun we had, but to pay so much and have simple things like stove burners and and locks not working is disappointing.
The property was very run down. Dishwashers and refrigerator were very aged and difficult to manage dishwasher needed repairs and luckily my husband fixed so we could use. The freezer door was extremely difficult to open. There was a dangerous broken window in the great room that had sharp glass exposed and was a hazzard for the small children. Most likely from a golf ball which was very close to the back yard. Really not worth the money paid to stay there. We paid almost $20K for a week for 10 family members and this was a definite disappointment.
Our stay was terrific and the property manager provided outstanding information and service throughout our stay. The property was lovely, roomy and comfortable. Highly recommended.
It was a beautiful home and large enough for our large family. It was very hard looking at the pictures on line to get the correct aspects of the rooms. We needed 6 enclosed bedrooms and the pictures were not clear what was a closed bedroom and what was a living area. The maids quarters was a great bonus for our group as we had a new baby. It was very unfortunate that the plumbing was not working so no water at bathroom sink or tub/shower. The dish washer in that room was not hooked up. It would have been great to have it to wash bottles!
There was no water running at the house when the first of our group arrives and the driveway to the house was icy and not salted or sanded. The advertisement of an elevator was deceiving as it was not working for our entire time. It should be written in the description that it is radiant heat! It was very nice but we all had a bit of a learning curve to get the temperature adjusted. Many of the windows did not close properly and some places were very drafty. The kitchen set up was good. We had to have a repairman come to fix one of the dishwashers. It also could use a few more serving dishes and cooking utensils. We brought our own cookie sheet, Bundt pan and cast iron Dutch oven. We loved the separate refrigerator and freezer but that freezer was VERY hard to open. The bedrooms with attached bathrooms was just perfect! A few of the mattresses need replacing soon. It is also advertised as a ski in/out but maybe because of the snow conditions there was an uphill walk to get back to the house. The three garages were nice as we had 5 cars/trucks. The outside parking was nice, but again not cleared or graveled. Outside patios were nice and most enjoyed the hot tub. Over all, the 12 adults and 11 year old boy had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay very much.
