Comfortable three bedroom bungalow located in Orkney Islands complete with emus.
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great week's stay at Julie & Jason's bungalow on Sanday . The place is immaculate and was warm and cosy for our arrival . Communication and directions were provided and we had a very friendly welcome from them both . You'll love the emus in their garden , go and visit Julie's glass studio too.The house is really comfortable, quiet and well-equipped and centrally located for everywhere on the island. Sanday is a beautiful place and this is a perfect place to appreciate the island ."
"The building looks a little tired on the outside so I was surprised to find it clean, bright and well decorated on the inside. The staff were all very friendly and helpful although they did seem a bit rushed off their feet at a couple of the busy times so perhaps not enough staff on duty. I dined there on the first night and the food was excellent and reasonably priced so I booked in again for my second night which was equally as good. I enjoyed my visit and I would recommend a stay here."
"Was welcomed and checked in.
Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Went into Kirkwall for a meal, approx 10-15 minute walk.
(Supermarkets are quite nearby also)
Lovely breakfast after a comfortable nights sleep
Thank you 👍"
"Men he location is perfect. Very crntrsl. I got a room on ground level with my own entrance directly from the Main Street which was very convenient.
The service level of the staff was very good, like checking in, breakfast and the bar."
Mingro is a unique beachside cottage that serves as a retreat from modern life.
10/10 Excellent
"Where to begin…. Well we have already made a booking to have the privilege of staying at Mingro for two weeks next year! A well cared for cosy cottage in a fabulous location with direct access to the beautiful Rothiesholm beach. We loved the tranquil, peaceful setting and certainly didn’t miss WiFi or TV with so much beautiful scenery on the doorstep. We found everyone on the island very friendly and welcoming, always a smile and cheery wave. Researching family history we found the Heritage Centre to be a great resource and also learned so much chatting to some of the long established residents, hearing great tales of Stronsay in past times. We left Mingro feeling we had only touched the surface of all there is to explore and although Stronsay is not the easiest destination to get to it is well worth the effort."
You can find out about the history of Stronsay when you stop by Stronsay Fish Mart. Stroll along the waterfront or visit the monuments while you're in the area.
Explore the great outdoors at North Ronaldsay Bird Observatory, a lovely green space in North Ronaldsay. Stroll along the beaches or visit the monuments while you're in the area.
