This hotel was our favorite in Tokyo. The room was average size for a Tokyo hotel, which of course is smaller than hotel rooms in western countries. The amenities were amazing, the rooftop sun was splendid. I will stay here again if able.
Nice rooms (Japanese/modern room), a little on the small side if 2 big pieces of luggage, but rather common for Tokyo apparently. The rooftop bath is nice (with alternate opening hours). Good location, calm and quiet, a few coffee places around, walking distance from Asalusa.
This is like the sixth-seventh time I used this hotel. It’s a bit of a walk from Ueno Station, but you get a nice, quiet, no-frills hotel that’s pretty cheap. Thanks again for a comfortable stay.
The most expensive hotel we booked for our stay (most bookings we made much earlier), but sadly, the least pleasant and comfortable room, lobby and amenities. The bath products were good, and the location was pretty convenient. And at least it wasn't a place we were sorry to leave at the end of our trip.
We had a great time staying at Kin Hotel for 4 nights for our first time ever in Tokyo. The room was small but not much different to a lot of hotel rooms in Japan, it was perfect for the 2 of us.
What made this stay great for us was the location!
Asakusa is such a great and quiet neighbourhood to stay in. The hotel is just 15 mins from Senso-Ji which means we got to see it at night when it's quieter. It's also right next to Kappabashi, the best street in Tokyo to shop for kitchen knives and tools and ceramics.
To get anywhere else in Tokyo, you can easily get to Ueno station (15 mins walk) or get a train on the Ginza or Asakusa line.
The open-air bath was an amazing addition to our stay and I wish I used it more. The fact it's open-air means that it doesn't get too stuffy in there.
This stay was nice and convenient walk from Asakusa/ Sensō-ji temple.
The train on the Ginza like wasnt too far away.
Was a very quiet area. There also was a laundromat next to the hotel which was convenient to wash clothing during trip.
Cons: The room was a little small. It was small space barely fit two carry ons
We arrived later than expected, but the gentleman at the desk still allowed us to use the onsen. Which was much needed after travel delays. The rooms are much smaller than western rooms but have everything you need, and they include items travelers often forget. I would stay here again for sure.
A nice basic clean hotel. Rooms are tiny but clean. Surprised to find a little bath tub which was a bonus. Check out time is 10am which is ridiculously early since check in is strictly after 3pm. Surrounded by temple and mortuary which perhaps explained why the area was quiet. Walking distance to Senso-ji and shopping area which was nice… we enjoyed our stay 😊
Absolutely loved my stay here. Located in a cute neighborhood, and felt like a part of it by the time I finished. No laundry services, but a good coin op one next door. No food services, but a grocery store right next to it. Not a lot of rooms, so it stays quiet and calm, and still has an open air bath accommodations (empty every time I used it!). Amazingly affordable for what you get, so make this your hotel too! I even booked it again, and already regret changing to the hotel I booked after this one.

Severely cramped
Rooms were very, very small and only one SMALL hook to hang clothes. Absolutely NO drawer space. Bathroom was so tight barely one person could fit.

Liked: Cleanliness
We picked this hotel for its location. It is in walking distance to a lot of the local sites and activities and the price was reasonable.
Here are some aspects that I did not like so much and why I took away stars:
-unfortunately, the staff barely spoke any English (or any of the other languages I speak...). I am aware that I am in a foreign country and I typically make a valid attempt at adapting. That being said, at least that was working in the tourism industry, should be able to speak at least one other language that is.
-our room was EXTREMELY small and there was virtually no storage. Again, I understand that it's Japan, but there was no drawer/closet etc. to put anything in. There was also no space where a suitcase could be fully opened except for on the bed or the hallway. We opted for the latter.
-since there was no desk or work space in the room I would have at least wished for a common area in the hotel where one could sit and be one's computer for a while. Unfortunately, the only common space was the very small lobby itself with no tables/desks.
Overall, the big selling points are location and price.
