A little dated in the room, but it was clean!
Had an issue with the tv but it was sorted promptly!
The staff on reception were friendly, and welcoming. The breakfast was traditional English breakfast.
The lovely ladies serving and looking after breakfast were simply superb, attentive, and professional. Their warmth and maturity really stood out and, in our experience, surpassed the service we received at all the other hotels we stayed at this summer.
We also had beautiful sea views overlooking Newquay from the terrace outside our room. Priceless.
it's quite an old hotel so the rooms are a little dated, but our room was very clean and we got a bigger room than we booked. The staff were all very polite and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and the food was good quality.
Lovely views from the hotel and really nice sitting outside. We had our dog with us and were able to access most areas with him. Makes a nice change from more modern hotels that lack any sort of character, we would certainly stay again
Parking good you have to pay extra £+2 per night. It was hot so windows in bedroom open lots of traffic noise if not on sea side of hotel..didn't see a lift so stairs...very good views of sea lounge and outside seating area. .public transport bus close by.train station very short walk away.
A beautiful, traditional hotel with excellent, friendly staff who go the extra mile to help. We had a lovely sea view large bedroom with a balcony. The food was excellent with a good choice for room service too. Stunning views from hotel across Torbay.
We will definitely be returning.
Excellent little stay & perfect for the airshow weekend. Unbeatable price for the location. Staff helpful & absolutely no issues. Will be returning next year

We were part of a party of 8 (family - adults)
We were staying for a family wedding.
Anthony (owner) and all his staff did a fantastic job at looking after us well.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast and general food was excellent.
Terraced, outside area just great for relaxing and catching up over a drink.
Tired, shabby, squeaky. The staff did a good job on a hot bank holiday weekend with a check-in queue out the door but personally I’d knock it down and start again.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our meal & breakfast. The room was spacious with a side view of the sea. Now for The But, the hot water was cold. Reception told us to run the tap as the boiler was on the other side of the hotel. After at least 15 minutes and feeling very guilty about the waste of water it only became tepid ! No nice hot shower for us !

Staff were generally really helpful.
My issue was the room.
I booked a single room as I was a single traveler
The room was very small
Dark, and was desperately in need of a lick of paint, new furniture and carpet. Some of the wall paper was bloated and had detached from the wall.
I think the wardrobe was bigger than the shower, which I must say had good pressure, but suffered from only tepid heat.
The room was usable but I didn’t want to spend anytime in it other than sleep.
I did ask at reception if I could move but was politely told there was nothing available till my last evening.
Breakfast was decent and plentiful and the bar prices were what I expected for a hotel.
The vista is fantastic
Very dated hotel, large room ,good sea view .friendly staff.needs an update on beds quilts and upholstery .

Staff great, clean room, good room price and food and drink decent value.
A bizarre experience all around. Half of the staff made a good pass at it - the people in the bar and the housekeeping staff. But most of the others seemed unable to comprehend what it is to be in the hospitality industry.
Many of those we encountered were surly or grumpy in the extreme. Day after day the breakfasts were pretty inedible.
Food was cold, coffee was lukewarm at best.
At prices like these it's a pretty poor show chaps . . . Needless to say, we won't be back.
Nice hotel over looking the sea staff are friendly hotel nice and clean nice location easy to work to where you want to go would definitely recommend

Such a beautiful location but hotel itself is rather dated. Reception & bar service were both very slow. Our room, 56, is in need of a deep clean, as is the dining and bar area. Also, overnight we could lots of noise from reception area.
