"Travelers beware! I booked this hotel through Hotels.com in February 2026 for a July 2026 trip. I had all the reservation information with me but when we got to the hotel they had no record of it. There is no way to know where the breakdown occurred — Hotels.com or Le Phenix — but everything worked out fine thanks to the staff at the hotel in Lyon. Almost immediately they assured us that they would take care of us. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available at Le Phenix but thankfully this hotel is a part of a larger group that operated several others in Lyon. While we waited, they offered us a beverage and were had complimentary glasses of wine. We were going to have to go to another one of their hotels, but we were upgraded to a larger room, given breakfast every morning. Additionally, they paid for our taxi to the new hotel. We stayed at Globe and Cecil in Lyon and it was fabulous. The location was in the heart of the city yet the neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance of important sites, restaurants and shopping. While I will be a little more hesitant to book with Hotels.com I wouldn’t hesitate booking this hotel or any of their others in the future."
