This is a great hotel to stay in Trier. It's very convenient and the ruins are nice, but the overall feel of the hotel is dated. Would definitely stay there again, but it needs a facelift.

Perfect place to stay!

Location was right across the street from sights, dining and shopping. View of gate from room was incredible! AC wasn't great, but the room has a huge window that you can open and a cool breeze blows in easily. They also provide a nice fan that keeps the room comfortable.

Great location

This was a very comfortable hotel. Very convenient location, close to the train station and centrum. the bistro offered great food, at great price. There was a festival going on this weekend so the hotel was at the perfect location.

Property is right on the edge of the of the main city center and across from one of the Roman ruins. It’s walkable to most sites and about 10-15 min walk from the train station. Rooms were well sized and clean but pretty basic otherwise.

The location of this property is unbeatable, especially for the price. The views are absolutely stunning and the entire city is very walkable from the hotel. The main thing we did not like was that the lamps on the bed are directly above your head and we hit our heads a few times.

This is my favorite hotel in Trier! This was my 3rd stay and I love the view of the Porte Negra. Great location to shopping and near the train station and a bus hub. Staff are always great and quick to grant any requests. Highly recommended!!

In general , the hotel is very nice. However, amenities are very basic, a high-end hotel has no wash clothes in the room, Kleenex run out not replenish, only 1 flat pillow per person, and had to make use of the sofar cushion to fit my head while sleeping. Twice I called reception counter but never answered and had to go to the reception counter in person for service, I refused to go to the lobby myself for the second time. I would not give this hotel a thumb up for recommendations.

Gateway to Trier - literally

Just across the road from the Porta Nigra so an excellent location to start exploring the Roman history of Trier. Also not far from the train station along a main road. Staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are large and very comfortable, with large beds, a large desk and chest of drawers, a small table with armchairs, and a good sized bathroom. The breakfast restaurant does a very good traditional German breakfast, where you can enjoy a marvellous view of the Porta Nigra over bread and cheese/cold meats/jams, and good black coffee. The downstairs Vis A Vis bar/bistro is good for an evening drink and/or a light dinner. The association with a Spielbank casino is a little weird, but otherwise not noticeable as it's out of the way.

Het hotel ligt dicht bij het centrum. Naast het hotel is een parking. Het hotel ligt recht over de Porta Nigra. De bedden waren goed. Het was rustig op de kamer ook al hadden we uitzicht op de straat en de Porta Nigra. Wij hadden een bad op de kamer. Minpuntje was dat de badkamerdeur niet helemaal dicht ging en dat het koud was op de kamer. Er was wel een elektrisch vuurtje voorzien. Het ontbijt is vrij duur. Het sinaasappelsap was niet vers.
