Helt OK og i nærheten av flyplassen

Litt dårlig skiltet fra flyplassen, men fant frem! Mottatt hyggelig i resepsjonen og i restauranten som lå i 2. etg. Dagens rett ble anbefalt og den var ypperlig og akkurat passe stor for en som ikke spiser så mye. Helt OK for en natts overnatting. Selvsagt noe flystøy i og med at det lå i nærheten av flyplassen.

Utmerket hotell, men utrolig varmt.

Hotellet har ikke aircondition på noen av rommene sine, så det ble forferdelig varmt om dagen. Flyplassen er like i nærheten, men lydisolasjonen er så god at med vinduet lukket kunne vi ikke høre noen ting. Dessverre var vinduet eneste måten å få frisk luft, så det var ikke bare varmt men også bråkete midt på sommerdagen. Anbefales på det sterkeste så lenge det ikke er varmt ute når du skal være på rommet.

Slitt hotell uten fornying/opp-pussing

Etter å ha blitt fristet på nett av fine bilder av rom fikk vi et lite, slitt og dårlig rom til en stiv pris,- etter å ha klaget og bedt om oppgradering fikk vi et superior-rom som hadde fin størrelse, men noe skittent og slitt her også. Det som slår meg er at hotellet ikke har noen form for oppussing, men prisene er like høy eller høyere enn nye hotell i sentrum, slik sett er det forståelig at folk ikke vil bruke dette hotellet så mye...

OK hotel i industriområde

Hotellet ligger i industrikvarter med enten udsigt ind i en jordbunke eller til bjerge - forstyrret af foranliggende industri. Helt nødvendigt med egen bil. Værelset havde elendig lysregulerings forhold. Alle var meget venlige på hotellet. Rigtig god morgenmadsbuffet.

Outdated and very simple interior. Did not get the room I booked, the hotel had simply downgraded me to another type of room and assumed that was ok. No iron in the room. Overpriced. Not recommended.

Nice hotel close to the Airport and the fjords are

we spent 3 nights at Scandic Tromso during our Aurora chase tour and it was great, good position, good opportunities for driving on your own and explore the near fjords

Perfectly pleasant hotel but.......

Basically in a semi industrial area not close to town or harbour. In hindsight would probably choose to stay at a more central hotel. Access to town would outweigh the additional expense but if you are on a budget then choose this hotel which is better value for money however beware taxi rides are not cheap and can mount up considerably.

Scandic Tromsön sijainti on ilmoitettu – uskoakseni tietoisesti – aivan miten sattuu. Hotels.com ilmoittaa hotellin olevan 1,2km päässä keskustasta – omaa typeryyttäni uskoin tähän. Hotellihan on lentokentän vieressä aivan saaren toisella puolella kuin missä keskusta. Matkaa on tosiasiassa neljästä viiteen kilometriä, ja välissä niin suuri harju että selkä kuivana ei sen yli jalkapelissä mennä. Tuollaisia pettymyksiä ei matkailija juuri kaipaisi.

Good hotel

The hotel is close enough to the airport that you can walk to it, even in cold weather, which is very appealing, especially for a short stay. It is close to the airport and yet you aren't bothered by the sounds of planes. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm. The breakfast buffet was very good with a wide range of food and drink to choose from. The only downside was the absolute lack of staff. When we arrived in the early evening there was one (very nice) lady at reception and one lady behind the bar. The lady at reception, I noticed, was also having to carry out other jobs away from the reception desk which meant that the reception was sometimes unattended and the lady behind the bar/restaurant was overwhelmed with orders for food and drink with only half the restaurant area filled. She tried very hard, but any time she needed to go to the kitchens the bar was unattended so there was often a line waiting. Staff were friendly and accommodating though and I would recommend the Scandic Tromsø overall.
