Beach-Chic Apt. for Two - SLEEP NUMBER BED - Porch Rockers - Short Walk to Beach

UPSTAIRS / The tastefully-decorated newly-renovated, Tybee Time apartment has a complete kitchen with stainless appliances combined with the attractive living area that features a full sized sleeper sofa for a plus one. This bed is not suitable for anyone over 6'. Two barrel-shaped, comfortable red sitting chairs are made for relaxing, reading or watching television, which has DVD capabilities. The bedroom accommodates a queen size Sleep Number bed with adjustable firmness mattress. A spacious closet with shelves, suitcase stand and coat racks provide plenty of space for clothing and personal items. The screened porch has two comfortable red rocking chairs that are just right for a relaxing finish to your day in the sun. An energy efficient, ultra quiet Mitsubishi heat pump AC/heat unit offers plenty of heat during cold months and plenty of cold air conditioning in the summer. Ceiling fans inside and on the porch gently move the air as well.

This apartment is just right for a couple or a couple with a small child or two adults and a close friend who doesn't mind sleeping on the sleeper sofa. The downstairs apartment may also be rented to allow for plenty of room for family and friends.

On the south facing wall is an incredibly beautiful ocean life mural designed and painted by world renowned artist Mary Jane Volkmann who was assisted by owner Cathy J. Sakas. On the front of the cottage the sassy Octopus watches over her Lair.

Our nightly rates vary with the seasons and include a two-night minimum, plus hotel/motel taxes & fees (see rates). Discounted weekly and monthly rentals are also available.

I love the 2 block walk to the beach! Fishermen’s pier was a gold mine of a find! The red rocking chairs on the porch is my favorite place to relax & people watch!!

My Husband and I just got back. This place wad perfect for the two of us. Close to grocery, bike rentals and Sting Ray's The screened in porch was lovely to sit in at the end of the day. Owner was quick to reply.

Cathy's Octopus Lair is adorable. The space is clean, well-maintained, and filled with cute marine trinkets. The covered porch and rocking chairs are perfect for just relaxing in the shade and watching the local animals. The coolest thing happened. An osprey has moved in to the trees, and has been hanging out. You can hear it call, especially in the morning and evening.

Octopus Lair

This was the perfect location for the St. Paddy's Day parade at Tybee!!! Owner Awesome to deal with on everything ! Great neighborhood for peace and quiet. Great for biking and golf carts. So close to restaurants and shops we walked everywhere ! We used shuttle to Savannah on Monday and it had a pick up site about two blocks away from away away

Great location and has everything you need!

Walking distance to downtown and beach. Just park your car and go explore! 2nd time here and it doesn’t disappoint. Bed is so comfortable and a good shower. Will be back !

Online listing details spot on. Very clean, with eclectic decorations and comfortable furniture. Located on a "bike path" street with very little vehicular traffic. West facing screened porch was icing on a very colorful cake! Convenient to beaches, restaurants, and shops. Honestly, our departure came way too soon. We hope someday soon to return!

The Octopus Lair Vacation

The cottage of The Octopus Lair is located in a beautiful neighborhood with close proximity to the beach, bicycling rentals, a market, and restaurants. The cottage was very clean and organized with quality amenities. We were in the upstairs apartment so the screened in porch was a nice place to enjoy our coffee and cocktails. Just a couple of suggestions: a colander for the kitchen would be nice and an additional mirror other than the bathroom mirror.

Amazing

It’s what kids and I needed. If we could, we would live there. Easy to walk to beach, restaurants. Felt so safe, being a single mama that’s very important. Help us just to enjoy everything. Check in 12 snd check out 12 was a plus! Who don’t want a full 24 hours for your money. Great price. Pray get to stay again soon!

Anniversary trip

We’d never really spent much time on Tybee, but we were pleasantly surprised. We found Cathy’s rental by chance and have since decided we will be going there often! It is in walking distance to almost everything that we wanted to do. Everything was sooo clean! The screened in porch was a major selling point as my husband and I love to sit on the porch and talk. The place is small, but sooo intimate and provides everything you could need. I think the kitchen is bigger than our own! We didn’t utilize it this time, but have plans for next time. Hands down, one of the best vacations we’ve ever had.

Great getaway on Tybee Island

My wife and I spent 4th of July weekend at the Lair and we had such a a great time! Our host, Cathy, was amazing and gave us great information about the area and the check in process was so simple. The apartment was very clean, and had plenty of space. It is conviniently located close to the beach access and so many great restaurants and shops. If you're looking for a relaxing beach trip, this apartment is an amazing choice.
