In our 4 month trip around Asia, this was by far our favourite place we stayed!
We arrived the night before Nyepi Day, and the team kindly organised a taxi from the airport, stopping along the way so we could pick up groceries. From the moment we arrived, I was blown away by how beautiful our bungalow was, set within stunning gardens at the back of Ketut’s family compound.
The food was incredible, with a great mix of traditional Balinese, Indonesian, and Western options. The fresh fruit and Bali coffee each morning were a highlight. The staff were absolutely lovely, nothing was ever too much trouble. They were happy to help organise tours, classes, laundry, transport, and motorbike rentals. We also loved the daily offerings they carefully placed around the compound, which added a special touch.
The pool area was clean, lush, and peaceful, overlooking a green forest above the river. It felt incredibly serene, you could only hear the sounds of nature.
Ketut himself was so warm and welcoming. He took the time to chat with us about our trip and invited us to a Kecak dance he was involved in at a nearby temple, which was an amazing experience.
There’s also a beautiful riverside spa on site, which we didn’t use but looked fantastic and very affordable.
The location was good, a 10 minute walk into the centre, with plenty of warungs, shops, spas and things to see along the way.
This place was hard to leave, we would definitely come back if we were back in Ubud. Thanks!
