Beautiful house set within extensive gardens amidst the tranquil Charentes countryside. The House is comfortable, well equipped and full of character. The large garden is private and fully enclosed, with lots of quiet corners to sit and read or just admire the view. The fenced off pool area is excellent - and features ample seats. The Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. All in all this is a wonderful place for a holiday with friends or family in a beautiful corner of south west France.

Beautiful Gite set amidst peaceful countryside

This is a very well presented Gite nicely equipped and with lovely gardens and a great swimming pool. The hosts were very helpful and showed us all we needed to know about the house. Although not in a big tourist area, there are lots of interesting towns and villages nearby. All in all this is a lovely house to relax in with friends and family.

Wonderful Gite

We all thoroughly enjoyed this gite for 1 week. It is spacious, clean and had everything we needed. We loved the barn with table tennis and table football. Excellent well kept gardens and pool (cold!!). A car is a must as remote. Lovely places to visit in the area. Thank you to great hosts Marie Claude and Jean.

A lovely peaceful property, surrounded by beautiful countryside and with a magnificent pool!

It is a beautifully converted old property, with so much characters, but really good modernisations too. The bathrooms are excellent and modern - the two main living rooms have so much charm. The gardens are beautifully kept, the pool is the best I have seen in a gite, and the floodlit boules arena is a delight! Thank you so much to the owners whose communication was excellent, and who where most accommodating and kind with meeting us on arrival, pool cleaning visits and on departure. Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing family holiday!

Absolutely wonderful!

We had a great stay in the property of Marie-Claude and Jean. It's a beautiful house in the Charente area in the middle of sunflower fields. The house is perfect for 2 families - with 2 distinct sleeping areas and a large kitchen, a great pool area and several corners to sit and relax. The kids enjoyed the large garden for playing hide & seek and had lots of fun in the Arcade hall, where they played kicker and table tennis. We had a great and relaxing holidays and can only warmly recommend this house and its hosts. We would definitely like to come back!! Thank you Marie-Claude & Jean! Mieke & family

Our favourite ever gite!

The friendliest, warmest and most charming of hosts. A beautiful gite, that has been renovated to a high standard, but retaining with lots of character. The photos do not do the property justice, it is delightful! The views are beautiful, the setting idyllic and peaceful. While we weren't blessed with Charente's sunniest of weeks, the five children in our group were never bored at the property or in the region of Sud Charente: swimming pool, hide & seek (cache-cache as we learnt), ping pong, petanque, even a train set! Away from the house we loved the market at Villebois-Lavallete, a day out at Aubeterre sur Dronne and a trip to a local Pineaud producer. I would strongly recommend this house and the area to any families looking for a relaxing break away from home. Thank you so much Marie-Claude and Jean! We hope to see you next year!

We have stayed in France for the past 10 years and this house is easily the best place we have stayed. It’s amazing. Renovated to the highest standard and in a stunning location. The pool is your own, it’s heated and is simply perfect. The owners were superb and able to cope with my poor French:) Every detail has been thought of and I would easily give this property a 10/10 for everything. Simply WOW. Merci

At last!

After honouring our original booking for 2020 we eventually arrived at the property and we’re not disappointed. A downstairs suite for my wife (recent broken leg) and myself was ideal and bedrooms upstairs for our sons. We loved eating out outside in the rear courtyard, spending our days by the pool and evenings playing Pétanque. We cannot fault the property and both Marie-Claude and Jean were excellent hosts; we will return!

A Return Visit

We are a family of 7 (5 adults and 2 children) who stayed her in 2019 and wanted to return in 2020 but Covid ruined our plans. We have recently enjoyed our 2nd visit which was just as wonderful as our first. This is a fantastic property with an amazing outlook over extensive fields. Marie-Claude and Jean have created a delightful atmosphere with every modern facility you could wish for. The private pool, not overlooked, was a great favourite with the children and the extensive grounds include a pétanque pitch & swing ball & volleyball facilities. In the barn is table tennis and table football so all ages and abilities are catered for. We fully intend returning next year and have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful area. You won’t be disappointed!!

J’ai réuni ma famille dans cette superbe maison, et tout était parfait . Très bon séjour dans cette magnifique demeure, la communication avec Marie-Claude à été très fluide. Le charme de l'ancien et la modernité est très appréciable (équipements de qualité, internet haut débit et climatisation). La piscine en palier et sécurisée est vraiment bien tant pour les adultes que pour les plus petits. Le jardin est magnifiquement arboré, la vue est à couper le souffle lors des repas pris en extérieur et le calme est absolu. Merci, nous reviendrons.

Nous avons passé une excellent séjour. Tout était parfait . La maison est vaste et d'une propreté irréprochable. Rien ne manque. Le jardin est immense et parfaitement entretenu. Le lieu est d'une grande quiétude ce qui est devenu rare et précieux. Aucune pollution sonore ni lumineuse la nuit ( parfait pour redécouvrir le ciel étoilé) . De nombreux jeux sont à disposition : table de ping-pong, baby-foot, terrain de pétanque, sports de raquettes et bien sûr le très belle piscine. Bref un endroit parfait pour se ressourcer ! Merci !

Le repos et fun en famille

Superbe propriété dans une belle région . Le jardin est très grand avec plein de petits coins à l’ombre ou au soleil. Jolie piscine, pétanque, tennis de table, repas à l’ombre… Honnêtement, il n’y a pas énormément de choses à faire dans la région, mais de jolies villages et églises. Aubeterre sur Dronne est interessant. Nous avons déjà réservé la maison pour l’année prochaine, ce sera la quatrième fois !

Superb tranquil stay

We had an absolutely amazing time at the property with friends and our two dogs. Everything was set up superbly well, and the Gite and it's surroundings could not have been better. A trully special place that we will no doubt visit again.
