  • The Church of Santa Lucia, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, is located on the hill of the same name in the city of Viana do Castelo. The church was built on the site of a small medieval chapel, known as a pilgrimage site for people with eye diseases. The construction of the temple lasted from 1904 to 1959. The eclectic-style Miguel Ventura Terra project combines neo-romanticism, neo-Gothic and Byzantine architecture. It is generally accepted that the architect was inspired by the forms of the Sacre Coeur Basilica in Paris. To the foot of the church at a height of 195 meters above sea level there is a line of a funicular built in 1923. Tourists can take the elevator to the observation deck under the very dome of the church. A panoramic view of the Lima River valley, mountains and the Atlantic Ocean opens from the platform. In 1927, National Geographic magazine named this species the third most beautiful in the world.

Good was that we were allowed to an eqrly check in but the old lady kept speakting to us in portoguese. Evenen though we told her that we dont understand a word. But the staff in the afternoon speaks good english and very friendly. Breakfast was not good. No service, the milk was old, no staff.

UN ACCUEIL SYMPATHIQUE

L’hôtel est très bien situé, au centre-ville. Un garage est possible dans un parking public avec tarif préférentiel. L’Hotel est récent et très propre, avec un design un peu tape-à-l’œil. On peut regretter que le lavabo soit dans la chambre et non dans la salle de bain. Cela est dû à La petitesse des chambres. Climatisation et mini-bar sont bruyants : à couper la nuit. Le personnel est très sympathique. Le petit déjeuner est correct.

Lovely room and bathroom. Very arty and colourful. A lot of thought had gone into the design. They pay close attention to detail. Breakfast was wonderful both in terms of the range such as individual little omelets and fried quails eggs with a sliver of bacon, 7 or 8 different cheeses and also the quality, including excellent coffee.

Dankbar für so viel Aufmerksamkeit u. den Service

Wir waren als Pilger im Hotel und genossen eine perfekte Begrüssung, durften zuerst ins Zimmer duschen und dann das Papierzeugs einchecken etc...weil wir vor dem offiziellen Frühstück wieder auf dem Weg waren wurde uns an der Rezeption ein Frühstückspäckchen bereitgestellt und unsere Wäsche wurde zum super Preis extra zur Wäscherei gebracht, absolut perfekt und sehr sehr liebevolle Personen

Small town Boutique Hotel

Not your standard hotel. Still it was a pleasant surprise. A different but very comfortable room. Firm bed good pillows nice bathroom. No parking at hotel but pay underground parking 5 minutes away 3.99€ per 24 hours. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Standard but good breakfast. Excellent staff. Would stay again.

De inicio o ar condicionado não funcionava em condições, o qurto estava muito frio. Falta de competência e de empatia da rececionista. A passagem da receção para os quartos é ao livre e à chuva. Corredores muito frios. Não tem qualidade para 4 estrelas.

superbe hotel design

bel hotel moderne avec une salle petit déjeuner très design qui nous a ravis. Jeune femme très agréable à l'accueil. Seul bémols, hotel difficile à trouver et il manque un panneau !
