The staff was very personable. They changed our room at check in to one further away from the bar as they had loud live music that night, which we appreciated! The Vic, an Ascend Collection Hotel
Very clean, nicely furnished, great staff, and some of these best amenities anywhere. TV with all the subscriptions. Cozy old-school pub in the basement with great beef burgers at bizarrely reasonable prices. Also attached hip diner but unfortunately don't open till 8am. Best yet: affordable pricing! ...

Fairmont Empress
Historic building. The pool/change rooms are beautiful. The gym is fairly well equipped although small. Did not have time to go to the newly renovated Bengal for breakfast but it looks GORGEOUS. Amazing views, perfect location, hard not to want to stay here.
