We had a beautiful, clean and comfortable room with balcony on the Piazza, just lovely. Of course the Piazza is noisy and animated but we knew that and it didn't bother us or kept us from enjoying our stay. But be aware that if you stay in this beautiful hotel, it's something to consider. Breakfast is offered at the restaurant across the square. Very basic. Had breakfast there the first morning but chose to go elsewhere after that. Not bad... just not what we were in the mood for I guess.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We had a lovely stay overall. The location is absolutely amazing — close to everything and with fantastic views. The space itself is very spacious, full of charm, and the rooftop terrace is truly epic. The staff were also incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay.
That said, the property could use a bit more maintenance. The showerhead was loose and leaky, and the outdoor seat cushions were unfortunately quite dirty and ripped, which took away from the otherwise beautiful terrace experience. It was also a bit inconvenient that some of the appliances were EU versions while the plugs were UK — we had to keep swapping our kettle and iron using one adapter. For something described as a “penthouse,” we expected these small details to be better thought out
The room is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. It offered a great view of the square and was well placed for a good choice of bars, restaurants and shops. The breakfast at the bar opposite was terrific with hot or cold options.
The check in was a joke!! Two phone numbers neither one answered. Could not contact Expedia to help. Fortunately the staff at the bar opposite helped us and managed to get us in. No contact at all from the owner before or after.
A very stressful experience after a long day's travel.
Wonderful & charming place. Perfect location in the middle of Old Victoria Town. Mélana was especially pleasant and professional. Room was spotlessly clean and quiet. Loved all the café’s downstairs too. Much recommended!
Great location in vibrant St. George Square although it includes hourly ringing bell from nearby church. Very close to Citadel as well. We had huge penthouse with large outdoor patio. Would definitely return here on next Gozo visit.
Stunning rooms. I stayed in the penthouse and the view from the balcony was gorgeous. The room was so clean with air conditioning, which was great in the 30 degree heat. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Victoria and very close to the bus terminal and lots of dining options and things to do literally right on the doorstep.
Right on St George’s share amongst all the restaurants. A bit difficult to find in the narrow historic centre. Ideal location for walking to the Cittadel and other historical sites in Victoria.
The penthouse suite was just lovely. Breakfast was ok and adequate. at the restaurants downstairs.
We booked the room with ceiling made of stone arches. It’s just as pictured! So cool. Ground floor unit. Cool restaurants right outside but it was never loud. Nice bathroom and shower is big enough for 2!
The location of the hotel is in a really cute courtyard with shops and restaurants. It's centrally located so it was easy getting around town. Our room was really pretty, clean and there was a koi pond out the bathroom window. The continental breakfast was wonderful! It was so much food, I had to ask for less the second day. Some reviews we read has issues with the church bells ringing, but wasn't a bother for us. We will definitely stay there again!
When we booked the 39St George we were unaware that it was not a hotel, but a B&B. Therefore, the services were extremely limited. The lovely young woman who gave us our key worked as a waitress in the two cafes in the square (where breakfast is provided) and therefore is rarely in the B&B. For an older couple and one who needs services and advice about the area, this is not a property to choose. However, the room was pleasant even though the window faces a wall, a shaft. Getting the penthouse is probably the best option. It is in a very good part of Victoria.
Hotel was really clean and that was the only plus point. Minus points:
-really loud (construction)
-really loud (other hotel guests)
-really loud (room 5 has an extra construction for the toilet and bathroom for room 4 so we felt like we were sleeping in the bathroom for room 4. We could hear everything, every time they went to the bathroom!) toilet for room 4 is on the left when standing in front of the bed in pictures.
-towels weren’t changed. But after we asked for new towels on the 2nd day, they mentioned that old towels should be thrown on the floor to be changed and not put in the bathtub.
-only got one small packet of shower gel and shampoo per person daily.
-breakfast was in one of the restaurants owned by the hotel. Rabbit or Piazza. Very extremely bad and slow service. Our coffee order didn’t come on the second day and when we asked, we were told they only have one barista. Many people complaining and leaving after a long wait. One service staff managing all 3 restaurants. The taste and quality of food and drinks were good but not worth the dirty restaurant and lack of staff. DONT BOOK BREAKFAST if you want to have a nice stay!
Glad we left after 3 nights of barely getting sleep!
A super hospitable place. Everything is spot on. Really comfortable rooms, super breakfast with loads of choice. Absolutely brilliant honesty bar terrace which was really social, sorry the spa wasnt available but it didn't detract too much from a wonderful stay. Thank you soo much.
