"Great staff, especially Abby at the front desk, she was instrumental in making sure that my room was clean and comfortable, she was very accommodating. Also due to my allergies, the cleaning staff made sure to vacuum my room thoroughly. Breakfast was great and the restaurant’s food was excellent! I enjoyed the bike ride! Thanks for everything, I will definitely return to stay at the Shade Hotel again!"
"This was our first time staying here. My husband and I have been to the Hermosa area several times over the past few years and this hotel was just awesome. We were very close to the beach. We absolutely loved our stay! This property is kept very clean and has everything available for use during your stay. The staff were amazing. We will be returning again soon. "
"Hotel is wonderfully situated right on the outside of the harbour, so my room had an amazing sea view and also prime viewing for a local sea lion colony. A little noisy for light sleepers but I enjoyed their banter.
Room was large, Aircon good and the bed was comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful and the restaurant attached to the hotel overlooking the marina was excellent.
Only slight niggle was a longer walk to my room because of renovations taking place.
I’ll definitely stay again next...

"First time using a hostel, reminded me of being in a military barracks. No frills but it was nice being right on the beach and within walking distance to restaurants and gift shops.
I was a bit confused by the address of the hostel. The uber driver took us to the address, or rather the block where it should have been, but it is actually on the next street north which doesn't have car access.
I would stay there again.

"Clean rooms, comfy beds and pillows, very accessible and easy check in. Highly recommend. Breakfast was simple but good, bagels, toast, waffles, orange juice, coffee, yogurt and sausage. Outside patio for breakfast, very relaxing. All the staff was super super nice. Would definitely stay again. 15 min walk to beach. Plenty of dinning options, nail salons and e-bikes around. "
