Location, location, location! This house couldn't have been in a better spot! We were there for an event at the convention center which was within walking distance. Groceries, 5 min drive. The best was the restaurants within walking distance. The kids had a blast with all the outdoor games, all of our rooms/bathrooms were clean and comfortable and our host was excellent! Highly recommend this property!

Great house for our family group. Numerous games, both indoor and outdoor to entertain everyone and a TV in almost every room. Walking distance to the boardwalk, beach, shops and great coffee. Short drive to many great attractions. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Terrific Weekend

This was the perfect place for a multiple day trip. I personally appreciated that there was a charcoal and propane grill but everyone else in my group had other things they preferred (pool table, outside sitting area, outside garden)

My family and I had the most enjoyable, unforgettable experience staying in Emerson’s Cottage. The house itself wa. extraordinary: clean, beautifully decorated, with plenty of entertainment and amenities you could wish for. We had great communication with the owner for any questions or issues we had, they were help in fixing it immediately. Highly recommended this place in the future.

Family friendly home

House had many things to make a family vacation enjoyable even on bad weather days. Tv in every bedroom board arcade and lawn games and pool and ping pong. Having the bikes was great as well.had a great time

My family was here for my son's wedding. Although we did not have children with us, it is a very family friendly home. We appreciated all the TVs for Sunday football. There were ten adults, and at no time did we feel cramped. There was plenty of space to spread out, if desired. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I cannot say enough about our host. Brandon was very accommodating and even brought us a new Keurig within an hour of calling him on our first day. I would recommend the Emmerson House without reservation.

Perfect home for a nearby family wedding

We had a fabulous weekend! We used the bikes to ride up to the Virginia Beach Art Show on Friday. The home was the perfect size for our family as we prepared to attend wedding festivities both Friday and Saturday night. We actually walked to the wedding as it was only a few blocks away! We were also able to have extended family over for an impromptu brunch. Lots of room both inside and out for gathering. Highly recommend!

Emerson’s Cottage is a winner

We had a wonderful mini-vacation at Emerson’s Cottage. It is a great house in a convenient location. The owners have lots of nice touches and amenities - modern appliances, Keurig coffee station, arcade and board games, lots of bikes, ceiling fans in all rooms, TVs in all rooms, etc. The outdoor space is well appointed too with a sofa, chairs, and a dining table big enough for 8. The yard is set back from the street so it is safe for little ones to run around. The communication with the owner was excellent. I highly recommend a stay at EC! DB

Family Summer Get-a-way

Our family lives in different parts of the country. Each August we select a place to stay that everyone can get to so that the multi-generational family (ages 6-50) can reconnect and make memories. This property was perfect for us. There was plenty of room on the first floor to gather for meals and play games. The outdoor area offered shaded and sunlit options for seating and convening. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The detail that was slightly unusual, but not an issue at all, was that out of the four bedrooms, 3 had direct hallway access and the other could only be accessed by walking through another bedroom. Once again, not an issue for us! The VIBE District was more than we expected! Short walk to the beach (perfect), quiet street, and just a street or two over there were plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, a farmer's market on Saturday, and quite a bit of night life. Something for everyone! I would definitely recommend this property!

We were a 3-family group with seven kids ages 7-20yo. Everyone loved the ping pong, pool table and pinball machine as well as the many other card, puzzles and table games provided. Cozy, loud and fun when everyone is in the living, dining/game area but that’s exactly what our annual family gathering is about. The covered/ac’d porch offers a nice retreat and when the weather was not too hot (and not raining) during our mid-July stay, the outdoor dining and Adirondack chairs along w the plastic axe throw lawn game gave our family additional space to spread out. One thing I did not gather from reading the space description was the configuration of the 3 (out of 4 total bedrooms upstairs. The aforementioned bedrooms are interconnected with one of the bedroom only accessible through one of the other 2, therefore compromising privacy—in terms of coming in/out of that bedroom. This made for an interesting “tetris” like room assignment specifically for the coupled adults in our group. House location is the Vibe Arts district of Va beach, where lots of independent coffee shops, cafe/restaurants and Kaizen Athletics (highly recommend btw) is within walking distance! Oh and so is the beach!
