Loved the hot tub and seclusion. Having laundry in house was great. Only minimal downside was non-drinkable water from the faucet (rain water, untreated), easily overcome by purchasing gallons at the store along with groceries.

Rainforest haven

Gorgeous cottage surrounded by rainforest. Loved the hot tub and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. No curtains in cottage including bathroom, which takes a little getting used to. I recommend touching base with owners the day before about getting the key, as they’re not onsite, key is left at cottage at 3pm.

Like a dream!

Very beautiful cottage in a serene and secluded location, yet only a 5-10 minute drive to Volcanoes National Park. Inside was very spacious and clean, decorated with fresh flowers. The hot tub in the back is awesome; it's so relaxing to sit in the tub, surrounded by trees and ferns, and to listen to all the birds singing in the forest. Our only suggestion would be to have internet available in the living room area (longer ethernet cable or wi-fi) so that it would be possible to watch a movie on netflix without having to sit in the office nook. Everything else was perfect! Thank you!

Blissfully Serene Cottage in plush green woods

It was a fabulous stay and believe it or not, the Volcano Hidden Cottage is absolutely truely "A romantic honeymoon chalet surrounded by a rainforest." If you want to get out of the hustle bustle of everday life and get lost in the serene and mystic quietness of the plush green woods, this is the perfect place for you!

Should have stayed longer-2 nights wasn't enough

We loved this cottage. It was private, quiet, and so close to the national park! The bed was very comfortable, and the wood-burning stove was perfect. The hot tub was a great addition too! We wish we had stayed here for the majority of our trip. The cottage was perfect. Internet is plug-in only-I think that was the only down-side.

Volcano paradise

Tucked away in a very private rainforest setting, this lovely, new cottage is just a few minutes' drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. After many days "on the road", this was the perfect place to catch up on lost sleep/relax and also venture out to explore the national park. It took 10 minutes to get to Jaggar Museum to take night photos of Pele erupting. Very comfortable LR with woodstove, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen. Dine on back deck and then head out to wonderful hot tub amid trees/ferns. (Robes provided.) Bathroom with great walk-in shower accessible from both cottage and deck. Has a washer and dryer. Owners not on-site, but very accessible. They provided very helpful info about check in; we didn't need to contact them while we were there.

Romantic and Cozy Cottage Surrounded by Nature

Our stay at this cottage was truly a dream of a Hawaiian vacation. The cottage is tucked away on a very secluded lot. While there are neighboring homes, the thick foliage and forest will make you feel like you are alone in the world. The house itself is very well-kept, clean, and updated, with every amenity accounted for. The bed is so incredibly comfortable; it was such a joy waking up surrounded by natural light, the sound of birds, and the beautiful greenery outside the windows. There is a comfortable back porch, a car port, and a functional washer and dryer (which was an excellent plus!). There are a handful of family-owned restaurants nearby which were pretty tasty, and it was great being so close to the Volcano National Park. Hilo is a 40 minute drive away, but the drive is easy and enjoyable. Overall I would recommend this cottage to anyone staying on the Big Island. It was so much more enjoyable than a hotel stay, and provided us with an up-close view of life on the island. It was the perfect choice for a honeymooning couple!

Very comfortable well equipped self contained

Beautiful house that is well equipped with the essentials. Check with the friendly staff about check-in instructions when booking with Expedia. A good place to base yourself to explore the volcano. The town itself is small but has essential stores, so it's good for those wanting to escape the crowds.
