Checked into our room after a long trip just to find roaches crawling the walls and weird stains on the bed. The ceiling was falling apart from what looked like water damage and the entire property was absolutely disgusting. Wouldn’t allow my wife and dog to stay here, we went down the road to an Econo Lodge that was at least clean.

Lady at front desk was very nice and helpful. Enjoyed out chat with her suggestions for dining etc. had a problem with our tv remote and she came right up to help! We would stay there again. We stayed in a La Quinta in Charlotte on the road the night before and it was not as nicely kept and staff not as nice and helpful as Red Roof Inn which surprised me!

The room was nice and we were moved to a room that smelled better, since the first one smelled like smoke. The only real negative was that we believed there was a breakfast included, but there was not. It was comfortable enough for a night and close to the freeway.

Very Pleased and Quite Surprised with Nice Room!

I'd stayed in a Red Roof some years back and it was a less-than-stellar experience. But I tried again, as we were traveling with pets and needed that accommodation. I was VERY PLEASED with the room. It was exceptionally clean, more spacious than expected, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is located right off the highway, in an area near to eateries, so we were able to bring in dinner after our 12 hour drive. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to others traveling this route.

Could have been better

The receptionist was great to deal with, so nothing was her fault. She had a great personality and super friendly. The room was ok. The floor had numerous stick spots throughout, therefore I questioned how clean it really was. It appears now that a lot of hotels are getting away from carpet which is fine, but they tend to swipe the floor instead of mopping it.

Poor conditions, safety concern

Exposed wires where smoke detector had been removed. Room smelled of smoke though was non-smoking, burn holes in bedding Took photos and returned to desk as I did not want to be charged for damages. He acted surprised but said they had no other available rooms. Morning clerk was very friendly, let me know my concerns were noted and the night clerk is part of owner’s family.
