We arrived an hour before check in and decided to have lunch. The car park was a 5 minute walk so we left our bags in the car. After lunch we went to collect them and I became unwell. We left and contacted them immediately explaining and asking for a refund of our stay since we would be going back to London. They just kept insisting that I call them even though I was unwell. I’m now back in Canada and still haven’t received a response.
One night stay . Twin room beds were not a full single size , which was a shame , as there is room for 2 x 3ft.
It’s an old building so you expect quirks but I had disturbed sleep as when other people move in their room, the floor vibrates in yours .. quite badly. Zero sound proofing between rooms.
Nice bathroom etc handy location situated on the square
The Rose & Crown in Warwick was delightful! My room faced the market square, and there was wonderful activity throughout the morning and daytime. I could hear the church bells chiming. Walking everywhere was easy. The nights were peaceful. My bathroom and shower were American-friendly. There didn't appear to be air conditioning in my room, which was not needed during my stay, because the evenings were cool. Just be aware of that if there is a preference for air conditioning. Both breakfast and dinner were fantastic! Service was excellent.
Good price and location, speedy check in, friendly staff, spacious rooms and attractive decor. Food options looked great, but we opted to eat elsewhere as our budget wouldn't stretch to the prices. Bed fine for a one night stay. If I'm being picky, pillows and headboards need replacing, some staining on the bed sheets and scatter pillows and some cosmetic damage to a blind - just needs a refresh.

Amazing to stay right on top of the pub. Not the most modern building or room, but it is charming

Perfekt plassert, så sentralt som overhodet mulig i koselige Warwick. Veldig koselig pub/frokost-område. Rommene og badene trenger oppussing, og det samme med trappegangen opp. Overnattingsgjestene fikk lite oppmerksomhet.

A Very Disappointing Visit
Firstly, we arrived at 2:55pm for a 3pm check-in, our room was not ready for nearly and hour. Before being shown to our room, which on this occasion was above the pub itself, we were given a guided tour of the rear of the pub, highlighting the fire escape route and access to the hotel itself when we return later in the evening. This became very relevant much later on. Our room – Room 5 was very large, clean with a comfortable King bed, a single bed plus a fold-up bed. To access this room required negotiating several flights of narrow, twisting stairs. The shower was very much in need of renovation or replacement, the spray from the shower head barely touched the bath, the water falling mostly on to the taps. Eight cartons of Lakeland milk in the room were out of date, dated April 2025. They stopped serving food at 8pm. The bar stops serving at 9pm on Sundays, 10pm the rest of the week.
The real issue arose when we attempted to access our room in the hotel, around 10:30pm that evening. the pub was in complete darkness, not surprising as it stopped serving at 9pm. We walked around the line of buildings, most of which was pretty dark, onto Theatre Street, where fortunately, I managed to find an unmarked open gateway, which led to a set of metal stairs leading up the first floor of an unmarked building. I entered a door which was ajar, which led into what appeared to be an employee’s storage area. A second door leading off the is room, led into what recognised as our hotel,
This was such a unique place to stay. Above the pub and town center, we opened the windows and it was great ambience. The room was a little more run down than pictures… but mostly just staying in an old building. It had tilted floors and you could tell parts were older. However, still such a fun and great place to stay!
Check in was efficient with friendly staff. Our spacious room was away from the pub in a separate building, it had nice amenities including coffee/tea, ironing board and soaps etc in aluminium bottles. Our room was facing a square with a number of bars and unfortunately didn’t have any secondary glazing so was quite noisy until the early hours.
A comfortable room for a decent nights sleep. Had a few issues with the bathroom, that were brushed off when we mentioned them. The room is nicely decorated but needs a little maintenance. Perfect location for exploring Warwick and the surrounding area.
Lovely little room on the 2nd floor of the pub's separate accommodation which is on the main square. I was worried it would be loud but it was fine. We had a room for 3 people (a double bed and sofa), up in the attic - the room was cute and had everything we needed (tea, coffee, biscuits, etc.). It was spotless and nicely decorated. I would stay here again. I wouldn't do breakfast at the pub itself though as that was a disaster (waited over 45 mins to get an overcooked poached egg and a dry shashuka which I returned). Others in the pub were also returning their food - the chef didn't seem to be able to cook eggs! Go elsewhere for food, but the room was lovely and a great location for the races (8 mins walk).
