The Ohio Renaissance Festival is open on weekends in September and October and is a really fun way to spend a day! There are heaps of neat shops and different busker-type performances and musicians and you can drink mead and eat turkey legs. Of course there is jousting and also a human chess match, Harry Potter style! Many weekends are themed too, including a pirate weekend, Oktoberfest, and Celtic weekend.
Brightly colored orange toadstools highlighted by filtered sun rays were an unexpected and welcome find while hiking on the frigid final day of 2014.
