Was wondering about the neighborhood but was reassured by unattended children playing along the sidewalk and friendly neighbors. The interior of the house was modernized and very clean. The house rules were few and reasonable with a warning about the touchy smoke alarm which we still accidentally triggered while frying hot dogs. Our host graciously allowed us to have some family over for a visit. We would definitely stay here again when next in this area. A big thank you to our host.

Stay in East Kildonan

Overall, stay was ok. Lacked storage in bathroom, could benefit from luggage stands in bedrooms and a console tavle by entryway. Walkway was very icy and my son slipped and fell.

Our stay was impacted by several issues that future guests should be aware of. - The entrance to the home has steep steps with no handrails, making it unsafe for individuals with mobility issues or anyone needing extra support. - The bedrooms are located upstairs, requiring additional stair use. - The stove burners overheated and there was no way to lower the heat, making cooking difficult. We were informed that a repair technician was unavailable during our stay, so we purchased our own hot plate to prepare our meals. - Maintenance staff entered the home several times to repair a faulty bathroom in the basement apartment, which was disruptive and affected our privacy. - We attempted to contact the host through the VRBO app before our trip but did not receive a response. We also contacted VRBO customer support by phone; however, they were only able to provide information already included in the listing and were unable to determine why the app messaging was not working. Having our questions answered before our arrival would have allowed us to make a more informed decision and, if necessary, arrange alternative accommodations before traveling. While the host acknowledged some of the issues, these problems significantly affected our overall experience.
