Richard is the best host. He offered wine and a tour of the mansion after check-in. He left me Irish cream and chocolate in my bedroom. He also cooked the best 4-course gourmet breakfast in the morning! He is so sweet and kind! I will definitely be back again 😊
We love the decor. Enjoyed being greeted with a glass of wine. The breakfast was excellent. Our only critique is that the breakfast time was later and length was longer than we anticipated and it would have been good to have a heads up the day prior. Perhaps I missed those details in the description.
Incredible!! The hosts were the most gracious we have met and clearly love Winona and their home. The food: fantastic. A wine reception, sherry for a nightcap, Irish cream and chocolate for bedtime, and a brilliant home-prepared 4-course breakfast event. No detail was spared in our room or common areas. We could not recommend this stay more highly.
Hospitality and friendliness and the breakfast was simply AMAZING

Room was great, the breakfast was the best ever. B&B here should stand for Best/Breakfast. Richard puts on a awesome breakfast. Going to definitely go back!
If I could give this B&B 10 stars, I would. Richard has thought of everything. We got there past the normal check in time a bit stressed by very long waits due to road work. Richard greeted us with a glass of wine, gave us a tour of the mansion and phoned a nearby restaurant to ensure that they would still serve us dinner. Our room was lovely and there was Irish cream and chocolates waiting for us before bed. The breakfast in the morning was incredible. We were sorry we could only stay one night!
Had such a lovely stay and Richard is an amazing host. I had to cut my stay short due to train cancellations and get back to Chicago. Will be coming back.
Sorry I didn’t say farewell and the breakfast was perfect

Room great. Staff great. Guests all had nice conversations at breakfast which was also great. History of house was very interesting.
The Inkeeper Richard was gracious, welcoming and informative about the area. The property is beautiful and historic. Food and service were perfect. I highly recommend this B & B for anyone visiting the Winona area.
The owner/innkeeper was lovely! A very nice host and the property is absolutely gorgeous! Truly a dream! Each room is decorated beautifully in time-accurate furnishings and feels very homey. The breakfast was delicious as well, curated and cooked by the host himself. A wonderful evening/stay for my partner and I.
Awesome stay, great way to spend the night and see the sights. Richard was fantastic, he made a delicious breakfast and gave us a tour of the mansion. Charming man, amazing experience , comfortable bed
Highly recommend

My mother and I had the best stay here. We were so worried about the check-in time, as our train was over an hour and a half late, so we were stressed about the time. I phoned ahead, and Richard was so sweet and let me know not to worry and just to let him know when I had an update on our arrival. My brother picked us up and dropped us off, and as we waited on the porch, it was such a beautiful evening.
Richard greeted us at the door and welcomed us in. I was not expecting a warm toast on the first night, and that was so wonderful! My mom and I had a glass of wine while we learned some amazing history about the house, and my brother hung out for a bit with our new baby niece! The home is just stunning- so well maintained and curated with such beautiful artwork, and it just feels so cozy, and you just want to sit and curl up with a good book (which I did!).
He showed us to our room. I can't recall the name of the room we stayed in, but it was so beautiful. Each morning we had the grandest breakfast I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. I cannot stress how hospitable and warm, and how loving it was to be in the presence of Richard, and the folks who stayed over the weekend were just beautiful. These are the types of gems that make taking time away from home so enjoyable, and I wish everyone had the chance to experience this for themselves.
A thousand thanks to Richard and his partner for all they do.
