"We stayed for a week at Cabana Bay, 2 adults and 2 high school/college teens. We had a great week. It’s a fantastic hotel that had something that all of us enjoyed. The pools were good, the snacks were good. We didn’t eat any meals there so can’t comment on that but it was always busy. My daughter was thrilled there was a Starbucks onsite. That was well-staffed and orders turned out quickly.
I appreciated the ability to text guest services. Made getting extra pillows, towels and toilet paper really quick! We did not pay extra for a view but really lucked out. We could see both Volcano Bay and the Studios/Islands of Adventure areas-which was great for night fireworks/light shows. The parks buses came about every 10 min or so and the waiting area is well shaded.
*A couple important things that may affect your budget and that were not in the Expedia listing for this hotel:
1) there is a $26 per night charge to park your car in the hotel lot. Important if you drove as the lots are all gated and there is no where else to park the car. That was a large unexpected fee upon check-in.
2) you need to either bring your own tube for the lazy river or buy them at the hotel (approx $10-18 depending on size) and the Float Shack closes daily at 6pm so if you’re hoping for an evening lazy river float, buy a tube in the morning.
We would definitely come back here!"
