We had a penthouse room with its own private terrace. The room was large and spacious with an amazing huge bathroom. The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. The breakfast was very good with lots of healthy choices.

Peaceful and quiet area, nicely decorated clean and fresh room, friendly and excellent service 24/7, nice square with nice restaurants a short walk from the hotel. We had a very good time here! There are no options for dining near this property hence ideally have a car as it would be time consuming waiting for and locating any public transport options. Best place in Gozo by far!!!!!

Gréât place!!! Really clean and modern, very big room! Air con working perfect, equipped with a fridge to put things ie water, wine etc! very welcoming by staff and big shout out Ronald(GM) for making us feel like home and great Recommendations for places to see and visit! Very clean and organize and I was not expecting that breakfast was included, but the manager from Moroco (The Gentleman- sorry I didn’t get his name ) explained us during the check in that we have bf included, it’s surprises us . And bf was quit good and again nice service by the Manager with smiles that please us the most .it was worth for money . If there will be dinner option available then that will be great . We are very happy with our stay .. Room is very well organized with the amenity and online check save our time to spend on reception 👍 I will suggest to provide some drop and pick to main city to visit will bring more guest to the hotel .. we will Love 💕 to stay in future. We love the hotel 🏨 😘

Highly recommended

We had a family room which was quite spacious and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable, we also had a mini fridge & coffee/tea station with stools. The roof top pool is nice but small and shallow. We had to cross the street to go for the pool as it was in the other building. Overall it was a nice stay and it was a pity we only stayed for one night.

I stayed with my family for 7 nights and we all really enjoyed our stay, friendly staff with warm welcome and easy check out. The breakfast was value for money, the room was very spacious and clean with comfy bed. We also had dinner few nights and the food was not bad-our child enjoyed the pool although I did not go in. The area very easy to move around with buses to Ramla beach, malsaforn, Victoria shopping mall and other places. My husband loved the outdoor sitting area especially at night. I will recommend and I will like to visit again.

You get what you pay for. Bed is uncomfortable (could really use a mattress topper) and the hotel is right beside a church, whose bell sounds every 15 minutes from 5:30 - 22:00. No joke. It's impossible to sleep through. The breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant.

Perfect base for exploring Gozo

Gozo is a small island and the Bolt drivers can really get you anywhere so The Segond was the perfect base. Xaghra was a very good area, close to Ramla Bay, and Victory Square. I feel like the images of the rooftop pool are a bit misleading however it didn’t bother us as we spent most of our time elsewhere! First thing you want to do for your stay at The Segond is go to a mini mart and get bottles of water for your stay, if the bar is closed and you forget water they can’t give you a bottle of water on tab (a bit strange) we found this out first hand, after a but of a late night and realising we had no water in the room and reception staff member at the time said “the bar is closed”! Not a big deal, but just a heads up for a thirsty hungover wake up call haha! Breakfast is simple but good and the restaurant staff are absolutely lovely. If you are someone that likes to stay at the hotel on your holiday and utilise the pool and amenities this may not be the place for you but if you are like us and explore the island every day then this is the perfect base.

We liked the room design & the beds were comfortable. But these were the reasons I rated it a 3 star -the shower water escaped from the shower pan and cause the floor to flood having to use multiple towels to dry it everytime we took a shower. - they provided a nespesso machine which was a nice gesture but once it ran out of pods they charge more for a refill. -the pool was extremely small and the kids never wanted to use it after the 1st day we went up there. -the AC unit worked very good but it was a fixed blower and blew directly on your face , that’s more of a design issue. -the balcony was a facing the shaft way and it didn’t make it enticing to go outside because you would be starting into other rooms. Other then that the staff was very nice and hospitable and the brick oven pizza was delicious.

Extremely disappointing

Me and my wife had a planned get away from our kids and booked the Segond Hotel as a great treat to ourselves. It was quite a mixed bag and I will go through the good and bad below. Good: Location is brilliant, we had a beautiful nice walk down to Ramla Bay, we were close to everything we wanted to do and see, we had two lovely evenings in the square which was easily in walking distance. The lady at check in and out was very nice and polite. The Bad: The room smelled of smoke, despite being a non-smoking room it had an ashtray in the outside area and the door couldn't properly close when outside so clearly people regularly smoke and the room smelled of it, we told the reception and they didn't care. The pool is nice in concept, but lacks sun (so always cold) and not very usable. The service was terrible, first the smoke in the room, then we asked on our second day for a new milk and tea and were told it was at a surcharge as they "only provide for one day" even when staying more(I've never seen or heard of this and I've stayed all over the world in MANY hotels). The breakfast... We asked for a gluten free bread and they gave us moldy bread (very obviously), without appologizing or anything they then took it and as we were about to leave brought out a bunch more without us asking. The eggs were bad, the meat seemed rotten, and the service couldn't speak English or Maltese. Many beautiful options on Gozo and Malta, avoid here!
