About this property

A mud-brick house in a magical place. (Citlalapa)

  • A cabin made of compacted earth with a thatched roof, nestled in the heart of Citlalapa, a wonderful Ecological Reserve with dozens of small waterfalls and several streams and springs of pristine water. It is one of the few places in the world where you can drink directly from the streams, as some of them originate on the property. The place is perfect for adventurers who enjoy being in touch with nature, who love the rain, the earth, and rural life far from civilization. (All photos were taken on the property.) We have a spacious wood-fired hot tub that seats six people. It’s located facing the peak of Orizaba, offering a breathtaking view of the Xico Valley. It’s a magnificent experience to enjoy a hot bath at night or in the rain. We have several kilometers of small trails to explore the cloud forest. Alberto will provide everything you need, and there’s a 24-hour security guard on duty. Important note: The rooms are separate and connected by an outdoor hallway. Please keep this in mind if you’re traveling with young children. We have high-speed satellite internet (Starlink), though we recommend using it as little as possible so you can make the most of the natural experience. We do not have a television. The bathroom is located outside the cabin.
