"I stayed here for one night in the basic room. I have previously lived in York and can say that the location is excellent. Near lots of the major nightlife spots in York and a 10/15 minute walk to the minster.
The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived.
The hotel itself is a little outdated. We were on floor 2 and the lift was very jittery and slow. The room was spacious and had a coffee machine and clean towels. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the pillows were very flat, but as we only stayed for one night it didn’t bother us too much. Be wary that you may also get a lot of street noise dependent on the night as the windows aren’t particularly soundproof and neither were the walls of the hotel.
Overall, for a night, the hotel was practical and clean and we had a fantastic buffet breakfast in the morning. I would recommend for a short stay."
