A novelty gas station built in 1922 along US Route 12. No longer operational, the pumps proudly display their last sale (1.87/gal). The station was hand-built by a local businessman as a contemporary jab at the Teapot Dome Scandal, in which Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall illegally leased oilfields in Teapot Dome, WY and Elk Hills, CA to private companies. Fall was found guilty of bribery, fined $100,000 and sent to prison. Plans to restore and relocate the teapot to a park in downtown Zillah are underway.
