"Excellently run by Al who showed me around and gave an personal rundown of restaurants, grocery stores and pubs in the area. Breakfast cereals, milk and bread is provided along with butter and lots of tea and coffee. The bedrooms rooms are small but functional with irons, ironing boards, TV, kettle, plenty of sockets and hairdryer to let a few of everything provided The ensuite is nicely finished and again has additional items provided that just give it that thoughtful edge. "Very friendly staff, lovely food and clean comfortable rooms. The carpark is small and can hold 4-5 cars at most and entry is via Station Street to the rear of the hotel. Loads of history on the wall of the pub and nothing too much trouble for the hosts. Would definitely stay there again."

"We decided at the last minute to break our journey on a bank-holiday weekend, from West Midlands to the East End of London and booked 'The Old School House Rooms' on chance and we were so pleased that we found them. It would be difficult to find fault with any aspect of the stay particularly for the price. Thoroughly recommend"

"I would highly recommend to stay here. I enjoyed the quirky decor and was very clean and comfortable. I was suprised to find I had a bath in my room but no shower but made a change! The room was in the attic so very hot but once I'd turned off the radiator, opened the windows and staff found me a fan it was ok.Good breakfast and would return when next in the area."

"Cute well equipped room with a few issues…. A lovely big comfy bed, with good quality linen was let down by flat hard pillows. Grubby around the edges - unable to have window open as window arm broken, rug under bed very dirty. Lovely big white fluffy towels. Bathroom itself was also in need of a deep clean around the edges and the overhead shower needs fixing as the water flow was poor. Breakfast was good quality. "
