"We first stayed at this hotel in 1986 and gave re-visited several times since. The location is fantastic right in the centre and beside the public car park and lift up to the chateau. The hotel has been renovated and extended over the years and is now even has a roof terrace for chilling out in after a days touring/cycling. "This was a charming, beautiful, comfortable place to stay! The staff were friendly and helpful in offering services and guidance with local sites of interest. The room and views were particularly lovely with water, courtyard, garden, mill, bridge, live geese, roosters, and ducks to add to the charming rustic site. View the pics! It is all very lovely!"

"Chambre petite et bas de plafond. Le lit est court (ne pas mesurer plus d’1,70 m) . Pas de télé, ni climatiseur, pas de sèche cheveux ni prise dans salle de bain. Promiscuité avec les autres chambres. Les hébergeurs ne sont pas trop disponibles. Par contre joli domaine bien aménagé à l’extérieur. Ne convient pas aux personnes à mobilité réduite. Pas très bon rapport qualité /prix à mon avis "

He really did us a favour as it is a fabulous and very interesting hotel with exceptional staff (especially Natalie on Reception). The parking is great value at €7 per night and the breakfast was delicious and nicely varied. Located in the centre of the small town of Azay-le-Rideu this hotel is an absolute gem. "
