"We had a fantastic stay at The Happy Traveler – Cabin at Starved Rock State Park. Nicole, the owner, was incredibly friendly and very responsive throughout the booking process. Her emails about our arrival and departure were clear, helpful, and made everything feel smooth and easy.The cabin itself was spotless and comfortable, and the North woods vibe really stood out. You can tell there’s real attention to detail in the way it’s decorated—cozy, warm, and perfectly suited to the Starved Rock area. We loved the fireplaces, and the whole place just felt right for a weekend of hiking and relaxing.Our friends and family were staying nearby, and being within walking distance of their place made it even better.A experience all around. We’ll definitely be back."

"The rear entrance had a key/card security lock but the latch was broken so anyone can get in. And the room extra security lock on the door ( the chain lock) was broken. It appeared as it was forced open at some point "
