"I got a last minute booking for a night at this hotel. The walls where thin. The bed was made nicely. But the toilet hadn’t even been flushed. It was very loud. I asked for shuttle service to the airport at 5am. I did receive a wake up call, but not until 5. The shuttle never showed and I had to take a taxi. The man working the front desk was clueless and tried to recharge me for the room. This will be my one and only stay. "

"Casa Venus is a first-rate hotel for the budget-minded solo traveller or couple. The location is fantastic for this walkable city, but it's easy to find transport, too. Restaurants abound. But what makes the place special is the people. Pen, the owner, is a natural at making people feel like they are "at home" and Juan Jose, staffing the night desk is a gem. Both provide lots of helpful advice."

"It's good value for the money, with one problem. Most of the rooms are directly above the courtyard / restaurant which makes it quite noisy until 9pm or so. Very few of the rooms have windows, unlike the promotional photo (maybe they have changed it). For the rest, all good."

"Friendly staff, they helped us organise a taxi to Palenque at very short notice as another taxi company had let us down. Also very supportive when I told them my partner was ill. The breakfast is great if you like eggs and/or meat, sadly I don't eat either so the options were very limited. Great presentation of food though. Easy walking distance into town and felt safe "
