"The staff at the reception was really nice. On our first night (3rd floor) we heard a lot of noise from above (like a cat or something). We couldn’t sleep at all but thanks to the staff we could move to the 2nd floor. Everything else was okey…you have a little Night market nearby. We always paid for the transport to the ao nang beach. "We stayed here for 5 nights and had a really great stay, we were a bit nervous after reading some reviews about noise level, but it was pretty quiet for the most part but YMMV. The A/C unit took a bit to get to the sweet spot and the building was a bit dinged up in spots, but the staff even with limited English was very sweet and accommodating. If location and price are two of the big checkmarks for you than I think Salty Sand is a good choice. If potential noise and partying isn’t for you...
