"The place has a little potential, but there are too many factors bringing it down. The bridge over the river leading there is shaky and dangerous. I had to carry my dog across every time for fear of her falling off/through. Owner did not know I’d even booked, so my room wasn’t ready. The place looked better in pictures. Doors falling off. bathe with these gentle giants at Elephant Nature Park just outside of the city of Chiang Mai. Unlike too many other places, the elephants here do not have to carry tourists on their backs, perform tricks or paint pictures. They are rescued from street begging, illegal logging or from camps where they did have to ride with tourists before. If you like elephants, there is no better place to go and no better way to support the cause of free animals.
