"Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. "The place itself was acceptable, the problem was that when we arrived the room was not ready the owner said that he needed 5 minutes to make the bed. When we looked into the bathroom it was dirty and welet him know and asked for another alternative as we needed to use it after a long trip, we had to wait. "Mmmm...on arrival we were made to feel very unwelcomed. We were not expected and then was criticised for booking through Expedia because the $ the host received was a much smaller % compared to other booking groups! (I then learnt that Hotels.com is owned by Expedia!!) We got an 'upgrade' which was not necessary. The rest of the o/n stay was pleasant."
