"My boyfriend and I stayed at Pocket for several days while visiting Kyoto. It is located in such a convenient area (walkable distance to Nishiki and transit). The property itself is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful! It is definitely worth staying here for the price! The only complaint I have come from the other foreigners/tourists. Please be respectful of the space especially when maintaining cleanliness as this is a shared space. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend Pocket hotel! "

"I will evaluate this hotel for what it is a low budget hotel. The room is quite small, but for me and my wife that only returned to the hotel at night to sleep, it was good enough. The public bathrooms may be a problem for some people, so have that in mind. The location was excellent imo, 7min walk to Kyoto's central station. The hotel has a music hour that is amazing, they have a person playing an instrument live in one of their other hotels and they broadcast that into a big screen at the...

""In total, it was not bad. This was the first time that I stayed at a hostel. For me, washing dishes was annoying. Besides, it could be noisy in the morning or late at night; you can hear everything, which is why I was using my earplugs all the time. The staff were nice, but it was still very exhausting that they couldn't speak English."

"Hotel was clean, staff were friendly & helpful, hotel had unique design, with the hotel located only 10 minutes by foot from Nishiki market and the main strip, with the train station close by & nice scenic views of the river just round the corner, with a 7/11 just under the hotel. Overall it has so many good aspects that I would highly recommend."

"Nice and handy, 10 minute walk to Kyoto station. Between Higashiyama Honganji and Nishi Honganji. Close to Karasuma Dori and Gojo Dori for buses and subway. Room was very nice and perfect for one or 2 people. Staff were very welcoming."

"It was a great hotel, it was cheap and very clean. The staff were patient and considerate. The fact that there was even an option for single person rooms was awesome. Good option for those of us who don't exactly make a lot. Sometimes, I walk past the building because the buildings are so packed together, it's noticeable enough to identify it though. It has the lettering right above the building."

"Friendly staff. I think the only con is that you have to take the lift to the first floor to access the showers. The narrow street right outside the hostel is very quiet at night. "

"Like the cafe/bar in the basement. The 2 buildings across the street from each other makes it a bit inconvenient, for instance, to get to the kitchen from hostel room if they are located in different buildings. Otherwise, clean, nice, comfortable."

"I enjoyed my stay here. I stayed for one night, but wish I stayed longer. The location was great-pretty close to the areas I wanted to visit. I really enjoyed how close it was to the river and the staff was extremely helpful and kind."
