"The hotel was in a nice area within walking distance of the Piazza dei Miracoli. My room and bathroom was small but clean and recently refurbished. My only problem was the single bed which was really small and lumpy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The garden in front was a nice shady oasis with tables, benches and statuary. All in all my one night was a relatively pleasant one and I’d return despite the bed."
"It took us about 8 minutes to walk to the hotel from the train station and the hotel is also perfectly placed with easy access to everything in Lucca.
The room was perfect and we were able to leave our bags at reception while the room was being finished. Would recommend."
"Family owned hotel with great flair and an excellent service. We loved the breakfast which offered way more than the typical Italian hotel. A bargain for this price."
"The photos are not what they rooms are. It is really a rundown place, where the "cottage" is ugly and poorly maintained. The way to reach the "cottages" are poorly kept. One needs a 4x4 to drive around the property. The Superior Cottage was like a shack, narrow, not properly finished, a disgrace. We were offered another one and shown the photos, which in no way reflected, once again, what we then saw. Old, narrow rooms with a strong odor of not well kept place. It is a disgrace to have this...
"We had a nice one night stay at Hotel Rex, especially appreciated the very nice staff and recommendations given to us by them. Would come here again :) "
"The staff at this property took excellent care of us. They were patient, kind, and helpful. The food was very fresh and flavorful. The shower was a little difficult to get working properly but we figured it out in the end. Really loved the view from the balcony too. 10/10 would stay again. "
