"Limited dining to only whatever dish they are serving and the times they serve. No options. No hot water in the cabins for shower. They tried to put us in a group to do all the same excursions as a group. We opted out of the excursions, which all cost extra. Wanted to relax by the pool but cool weather settled in for a few days. "Kenny is the owner and he was super helpful with coordinating our day trips and getting us boat rides to the city. The room with the private bathroom was worth it. Not many bugs got inside the room so that was great! Food was average but all included. No a/c but fans by the bed! Overall great stay "

"True jungle experience. Brought in on long covered top boat, must walk on mud steps to get from boat to real steps. Cabins are rustic with screen windows. Bed covered in mosquito netting. Cold showers. Power on 6-9 pm, which was fine bc you go to sleep early. Meals were quite good. Our guide, Marcello, provided by the lodge, was excellent. He saw a myriad of bugs and animals we never would have spotted. Marcello very knowledgeable, made our trip. He took us out on a boat for piranha fishing and...

A 5-start Eco-turism lodge in a middle of the Amazon rainforest. Puerto Maldonado is the up and coming tourism spot with Inkaterra running several lodges situated on the banks of the Madre de Dios river. This was a fantastic experience to learn about the company's preservation efforts, plants, animals, and participate in a well- organized day and night tours through the jungle.
