"We arrived at the hotel early afternoon. The hotel had no sign on it so we were unsure which building it was. Eventually on entering the building it appeared very dated and not welcoming. The bar area did not look inviting. We waited for the client infront of us to finish checking in. We noticed, in the meantime, a notice on the desk saying there was no hot water until further notice. The receptionist said to us that an engineer was on his way and it would be repaired soon. How she came to this...

"Great pub. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic, friendly staff. The food was amazing and some unusual things on the menu. Great breakfast too. Our room was really lovely too. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back! "

"We had a 2 night stay. Craig was chatty, but failed to point out a few things at breakfast on the first morning which proved a little irritating. The pool is only available for guests on certain hours, for example 6-10pm only. Also, rooms are not serviced unless you actually ask for them to be. This information was on the noticeboard but this was not pointed out, so we didn't see it. Otherwise, a nice stay, a good breakfast. Oh, and very light coloured curtains so expect to be woken early."

"An old property located just on the shoreline at the most central place possible. Both staff members i came across were exceptionally nice and accommodating."

"Was so very Lucky to find this nice village Pub! plenty of rooms! Great food! Great beers! Very clean rooms! Its a old building so it has its quirky side to it! Loads of secure Parking. My host Wendy was superb & did her utmost to make my stay a perfect one! 10 out of 10."

"We had a fantastic stay here for my partners birthday. It's in a great location within an easy walk down the pretty river to the town. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the bed really comfy. Will definitely come back here again ☺️"

It felt like a lot of thought had gone into the furnishings. I was able to park opposite free until 8am and move to a carpark just around the corner. I will be back next year! "
