"We arrived very late at night after a long days travelling from the UK. The parking was free and plentiful. The lady on reception was so polite and friendly. The hotel was just what we wanted....a nice, safe, clean, warm place to stay for the night. This ticked all the boxes and was excellent value. The room was small. It had a bed, a tv on the wall and a side unit with plug sockets and lights. The bathroom had a toilet, shower and sink. There were towels and piping hot water, also...

"This was a great stay! We stayed in the family suites upstairs. After a long day of driving the coast of Normandy, it was the perfect place to lay our heads. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Staff was friendly and breakfast was great in the morning. "

"Breakfast inconsistent and if you are arriving on a bank holiday reception is closed so they will email you how to get your room key. Overall good value for price we paid"

"This is an original building that was on the beaches of Normandy in 1944 and before, and suffered damage from off shore gun fire from Allied Ships on the day of the assault. The building is now a quaint hotel with a family owned hotel. We enjoyed our stay as we made a visit to all that is available in the area. All provided gave us a relaxing stay."

"We arrived late but the staff were waiting to welcome us. Breakfast was excellent. The Bar was reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent ideally placed for the ferry port. "

"Soundproofing between the rooms was very poor - conversation, TV and toilet flush easily audible, as well as footsteps and bed noises (!) overhead. Small outside dining area was dominated by smokers and therefore unusable by others at breakfast time. The only place to eat was a squalid pizza restaurant next door. Many guests brought their own pillows but mine were acceptable."

"Stayed right on Juno Beach and did all of the Normandy Landing sites. Quaint provincial hotel with a good restaurant. The staff were delightful in dealing with a couple of language challenged American guys. A great time, great place, town, great people. Forget the tours. You experience so much more planning and driving on your own "

"It’s an Ibis Budget so one knows it is basic. But this hotel is very clean, functional, friendly and has what I needed for an overnight. Secure on-site parking and a great breakfast are added bonuses. If you get here before 5pm, there’s a self check-in and you need your booking reference number for the kiosk at the hotel entrance. You then get a ticket with room number and passcode, Hotel is close to a Lidl and the wonderful old town on Dives-sur-Mer. "

"Friendly, comfortable, welcoming and so convenient for the Caen ferry. Recommended. Lion sur Mer is a nice little town with a fabulous beach close to a huge range of D-Day places of interest. Great fir an overnight stop or two."
