"This should be a marquee hotel with its history and design. But it's a very tired property being sweated by owners for the last bit of value. Hotel's business is mainly coach parties, so the few rack-rate customers like us feel marginalised. Seriously understaffed to serve and clean up after 3 coach parties at breakfast. Cleaning of the public areas is skimpy. Maintenance likewise.
Barely adequate overall for £140/night at end of Sept. For the record, I think I should have spent a little...
"Everything was wonderful. The rooms are small but very clean. The owner/manager (?) was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Our only complaint was the lack of heat. There is a central thermostat that only comes on at 5:00 p.m. It still felt cold."
"What a beautiful area. Marion went above and beyond to help us navigate our day and get us back to the Portree area. Thank you for a wonderful (albeit unexpected!) adventure."
"Alles war perfekt! Das Zimmer war groß und gemütlich eingerichtet. Auch das Restaurant und die Lounge sind mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet worden. Wir haben dort zu Abend gegessen hen gefrühstückt und können das nur jedem empfehlen! Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden definitiv wieder kommen."
"The ambiance of the property was fabulous. It is an old building and was charming. The main bed was comfortable BUT the futon's were actually chairs that folded out and they were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. There was no staff available. It was all contactless. The bar was the same no people. If you didn't have cell phone to use the QR code you could not get a drink. The breakfast if you didn't pay for it in advance was not available as expected. I found the place charming but unwelcoming. However...
"Owner was very pleasant and informative. The view was gorgeous. Best sleep of our trip this far. Very comfortable And clean. Woke to birds chirping. Lovely! Painted rocks by owners children. I bought one with a bird on it. 5 star visit!"
"Loved the Inn!! The room smelled wonderful!! Which was a significant improvement from other properties! The twin beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and well decorated.
The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb. Also enjoyed a delicious dinner - make sure to book reservations for dinner in advance. Enjoyed hikes to the beach and to the nearby waterfall all easily accessed from the property. Will definitely visit again!!"
