The owners were friendly and very accommodating - providing recommendations for dinner and things to do. "Found this hotel as a stop on the way from Spain to France .Friendly welcome, the restaurants was busy and really good value. Our waitress was a real card and humorous with it. Cannot really fault this place The is an area just up the hill - the Old Town, almost a film set from Dickens well worth a wander around here too."

"A bit too basic for us. We felt a rug to get out of bed onto would have been an improvement, rather than a tiled floor. The room was warm but small. The emergency lighting fitting was on the wall high up at the foot of the bed, and was aluminated all night bright green, filling the room with green light, annoying in the extreme. Ate in the restaurant which was good."

"Second stay here on our journey back to UK from Portugal. Great place, clean, comfortable and the owner is a gentleman. Local restaurant was closed this time of year, which was a shame as it’s really good food and good value but the owner pointed us to a place about 9 km away and the food was good and dogs were welcome. We will be back during our travels. Thanks"

"It was deep in snow when we arrived and my husband didn’t believe the sat nav so we were lost, we called the hotel and the owner actually got in his car in the snow and came and found us knowing we had an English number plate, well impressed! Great night stop over with a dog traveling to Andorra skiing."
