" Bedroom very dated. Corridor smelled of cigarettes . Dining Room was grubby. Was asked 4 times what I wanted and it was still wrong when it arrived. Also asked for a pot of tea and was brought a ‘builders’mug of tea with milk in it. Hotel very dated. "

"Upon checking in was greeted by an unfriendly team member who was not welcoming. There is no lift in this hotel so we had to take our luggage down stairs and then upstairs which was horribly inconvenient. The room was ok but with no air conditioning it was much hotter inside than it was outside. There was a fan in the room that could have been turned on for us but wasn’t. There was only one towel in the bathroom, so my husband and I had to share as when we realized it was too late to request...

"The room was a very good size, very clean with coffee and tea provided. Breakfast was very generous and excellent quality, we had an evening meal on our first night which was also very good. Thoroughly recommend a stay here as it’s also very close to Ullswater with its beautiful scenic views. I have dropped one star as the parking outside the hotel is a bit hit and miss as it’s also used for the surrounding pubs and shops. However there is a public car park a short walk over Pooley Bridge. "
