"The property location was fantastic being in centre of town, 2 minutes walk from train station. The hotel accommodation was basic and needing some serious TLC but for us it was exactly what we were going for somewhere to put our heads down and have a shower as we were on stag do we had 1 of the family rooms which was idea with all the amenities. "The Muthu Alexandra Hotel was a good choice for visiting Oban. Located on the far side of town looking over the seaside walk, you can enjoy a great view of the harbour and the rest of town. It’s walkable to get to both main streets, and also the ferry dock, which opens up the surrounding islands during your visit. I thought it was a good choice for visiting the town."

"Front desk went out of there way to make sure we had a room to stay in without us being able to communicate with them for a late check-in. We arrived at 11:45pm. Fortunately they had emailed us info on the room and location of key for it. We had a great sleep. "

"Excellent hotel, staff very courteous and food was superb. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious and bathroom was massive. We also had a brilliant view. Bar area was lovely. Can’t say a bad word. Breakfast is defo worth having."

"Clean, comfortable hotel close to the railway station and town centre. I had a small room and the hotel were honest and said it was probably best suited to solo travellers or short stays. The room was big enough but the bathroom was tiny. Fine for solo travellers though. Very clean and comfortable. "

"What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday. "

"It was comfortable and clean. Big space for a large party. Beds were good with fresh white bedding. Large rooms. Lovely old original features. Breath taking views. Quiet places to walk. Plenty to do in the area. I would recommend. Some updating perhaps on bathrooms. But still doable. We will visit again "
