"Rothesay was a revelation. We were put off by the ferry access on our upward journey but shouldn't have been. The hotel has wonderful views and is situated within easy walking distance along a promenade of interesting victorian hotels/apartments to a vibrant town centre. we were very lucky with the weather and loved everything about the hotel and the town."

"Excellent location, fantastic views, beautifully decorated and lovely outside garden with excellent sitting area (beer garden). Staff very friendly, greeted in the carpark area by proprietor on arrival which was a lovely personal touch. Will definitely be back to The St Ives."

"Tarbert is such a sweet little town. The castle ruins were magical. The hotel itself - very convenient, easy parking, incredibly nice and very hardworking staff. The meals were SUPERB! The room was in good condition. The bed was a bit on the soft and saggy side. Great view though over the water. Hallways are clearly under ongoing repairs. The dinner dining area is quite nice. Breakfast area could use a refresh (especially that first booth seat). Overall, the Anchor Hotel was a great 2 night stop off for us. Thus has been a magical trip overall and the Anchor Hotel was a delightful find along the way!"
