We started our stay very poorly, with a very grumpy and unfriendly reception at 5:30 PM.
We practically had the keys thrown at us and couldn't get directions to our room, nor was there any guidance about the hotel's facilities, etc.

We have a lovely stay at Bischofshof Braustuben. It’s an easy 15 minute walk from the Regensburg historic center. The staff was absolutely wonderful, not only pleasant to deal with but also very helpful when a repair was needed in our room.

We stayed one night in this charming hotel that was once a barn, and is now furnished with a midcentury vibe. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, nor did we have the breakfast so can't speak to that. Everyone we encountered on the staff was extremely friendly and kind. The location was great. We stayed for 3 nights and the breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of choices for food and drinks. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed walking along the Danube and the Town Square was within walking distance from the hotel. We were able to park free. Our hotel room was large and very comfortable.

The hotel opened into a beautiful courtyard that had many restaurants available and shopping just around the corner. We were able to walk to many monuments from the hotel as well.
The staff was very friendly, breakfast was available, rooms were cozy and very clean. It truly made us feel like we were stepping into a mixture of past and present. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We have been to twenty cities in eleven countries over the last two months... sometimes charm and character are over rated.
In this hotel everything works, there are power outlets where you want them, the walls and windows are well insulated and soundproof, the shower has great water pressure and there is a reasonable amount of storage. Sure it may look more like an IKEA catalog than a castle, but on that particular day, that was a blessing.
