"This is our second stay at Alva, but first time at this new location. The beds weren’t very comfortable, but functional. Overall it is very minimalist which probably helps keep cost down but no extra bells and whistles. Also, the breakfast option IS NOT worth it. Go find breakfast in reykjavik."
"Nice large room with a view of the river, good continental breakfast, close proximity to restaurants and shops in Selfoss. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed using the sauna on the last morning. Great value for the money!"
"Parking for free on a first come, first served basis, and there were plenty of space. That is a unique feature in most cities. Breakfast was great with many varieties. Each guest also had a voucher to get a free beverage for free (including alcoholic beverage except for champagne). Very satisfied with the experience."
"The location was in an interesting area with many shopping and dining choices. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of variety and healthy options. We had to pay for parking in a nearby parking deck."
"All in all I can’t really complain shower temperature and pressure was fantastic. Beds were comfy. I just think the Expedia photos made it look more modern than it felt in person, so I was initially dissappointed when I arrived at my room."
"Room is more spacious than most hotels in the area, and lots of windows/light. Right smack in the middle of downtown shopping district. The drawback is that there's no breakfast and no staff. You get a code in your email to open the 3 sets of door to the building and your room, and sometimes the door lock is balky. There are two entrances to the building, and they would tell you to use the side entrance depending on where your room is. However we found the side entrance inaccessible."
"Easy checkin process and nice room. A few issues such as broken window and missing tv remote. Good place for a bed to sleep in but does not offer much else. No working vending machines."
