"It was our first time in the castle itself, usually we stay in the lower hotel but the rates were comparable to the least expensive so I booked one night in the “castle”. The only complaint we really had was the heater in the room was controlled from a thermostat that was down the hall and was for the entire building so our room was either cold or way too hot even with the windows open in late April. "We stayed in the 8-room converted barn. The room very large and a pleasant surprise featuring a great view, soaking tub in the living area, gas fireplace, and a very comfortable king bed. I would give Windham Hill Inn five stars, but I deducted a star because of a clogged bathroom sink, a difficult to control HVAC system, and live and dead bugs in the room. Although somewhat dated, the room was spectacular for the price. "

"I decided to stay a bit out of town for a ski trip....and it was perfect. Just a 10 min ride down the hill to OKEMO and LUDLOW. It is absolutely beautiful and quiet...the sunsets and sunrises are amazing from the top of that hill. It is secluded and you really get a slice of VT. The unit is very large and spacious. It has everything you need for a short stay...for some, not having a microwave is an issue, but not for me. Toaster over, full stove, fridge, electric water kettle, coffee maker,...

"I was pleasantly surprised how nice my room was! Very comfortable 4 poster king size bed, gas fireplace, even a patio. Mini fridge & TV. The bathroom was large and had plenty of storage space and shelves. Plus, Ed, the owner, met me at my car, carried my bags, and couldn't be nicer. I highly recommend staying here. "
